I hope some of those posters are joking, but my guess is that there are some people who think this is a wonderful idea….until the authorities start arbitrarily replacing “gay” with “western”, “Christian”, “Jewish” or whichever other group they decided needs to be “othered”.

It's sad. There are whole lot of people that will talk about freedom and constitutional protections etc etc etc when it applies to their world views.

Many though seem to prefer an authoritarian government that nannys and bullies its citizens into conforming to the world views they espouse.

It's not just a slogan though that our constitutional protections and our freedoms are only as strong as the amount of people who will stand up for their most unpopular and controversial applications.
