Archbishop Rummel is totally controlled by the Archdiocese of New Orleans, whereas Jesuit, Brother Martin and Holy Cross are not... That's where the problem lays...

I may not recall correctly, but I wasn't that impressed with the college choices coming out of Newman when considering that tuition.
Spouse and I are not locals and don't have kids.
I sometimes think it's a location thing. My college list compared to my fiancee's (northern VA native) is laughable

Da J is only for Blue Bloods, bruh. Hard to get in, like UHigh.
I guess there's only so much Jesuit "Kool Aid" to go around huh...?

You edited in the apostrophe in "theres" but didn't change your spelling of "Cool Aid?"
Someone is mad they didn't make the cut.

Not sure if serious.

The only cut I know is where my momma cut the cord. I'm sure your mamma's pride cord still stretches pretty far....
Nice try though....

The only thing I know is there was a complete change from the Rummel 8th grade basketball team last year to the 9th grade team this year. Only 1 white kid this year. Not completely sure what it means but could it be similar "recruiting" ala Redemptorist?

There's a lot more black kids at Rummel than there used to be. What are you trying to get at?
Posted on 2/24/15 at 4:14 pm to Macintosh
In 1 year? When Redemptorist started recruiting a lot, the whites got pissed and left.

Unless you're comparing their list to Exeter or something, I don't know what more you'd need to be impressed.

For example, Trinity Episcopal, which usually sends most of its graduates to Newman, has sent 8-10 boys a year to Jesuit each of the last 2 years.
Trinity has always sent a good deal of kids to jesuit

Rummel doesn't recruit. Kids want to play for Rummel because they have a better chance at getting on a D1 team while getting a better education
Posted on 2/24/15 at 4:18 pm to Macintosh
Why wouldn't they recruit? You think John Curtis doesn't recruit?
Posted on 2/24/15 at 4:19 pm to Macintosh
Well why was the 8th grade team so different? Heard they were recruiting the Shaw folks and giving "full rides." Shaw 8th and 9th grade were awful.

I know they do, they don't recuit like them tho. Rummel recruits no more or less than schools like Jesuit and bro martin
Posted on 2/24/15 at 4:24 pm to Macintosh
So when you said "Rummel doesn't recruit", what you meant was "Rummel recruits just like the other Catholic schools"?
There's nothing wrong with recruiting athletes unless you're displacing a more academically qualified applicant and it sounds like Rummel has plenty of room lately. Recruit away!

Rummel should have never fired their last principal. He cleaned house one year and kick out a lot of problem kids. He was accused of trying to make Rummel just like Jesuit. Seems like he was heading in the right direction.

Moran was an idiot. Nobody like him. He is one of the reasons why the school is the way it is
