Have you been to fat city lately? And do you know the plans for it?

Well that sucks. Is it still all Mexicans living there?

However, generally speaking, Metairie is nowhere near as nice as it was a couple of decades ago.
No doubting that but the whole "Metairie is going to shite" narrative is overblown. Overall, it's still a good place to live.

New Orleans people Why do yall have such a problem with facts? I graduated from Catholic. Zero problem with saying Jesuit is a better academic institution. See, it isnt hard

Not from NOLA and I know Jesuit is a very good school. Many of their alums though think they are god because they were Blue Jays. Glad I live in a parish where my kids got a very good education at a public school with a great honors program for college prep.

Well, considering around 75% of the kids are in every AP class, you might be incorrect

Meh. That sounds like the school just lets most students take AP classes. Big deal.

And every NOLA Catholic HS would have served that same purpose all the same if all you wanted to do was go to LSU

Not much of a point in debating which is better if that's what your aim is

when i graduated CBS, one kid went to Rummel, one or two went to Brother Martin and the rest of us went to Jesuit. the jesuit staff always hates having to deal with 90 new eighth graders that all know each other already

It was more expensive for my little sister to go to pre-k than it was for me to go to college

I have had a few Ben Franklin kids in my beginning Physics and Calculus classes at UNO, and they are fricking weird

You would think that with a superior Jesuit education you would aim much higher than LSU?

While we had a small portion of my graduating class go to "lower" tier schools, LSU was pretty much the baseline, which absolutely cannot be said for a lot of other schools in this state.

Actually had a couple of kids from my graduating class transfer to LSU from more acclaimed schools because LSU is one of the best options in the region if you want to go into the engineering field in LA and Houston.

Metairie hasn't gone to shite but it is true that people don't want to live in the burbs anymore. It's much cooler to live in the city.

So much fail

Metairie
at least the east bank is thriving relative to Real Estate. 70005 and 70001 have never been higher.

New Orleans, Lake View Mid City and Uptown this is also true.

However the burden of additional over head of living in New Orleans with no appreciable benefits is taking its toll. I know for a fact, that several are selling out in NO and moving to the burbs (North Shore Included)

None of this, or very little has to to with Rummel's issue.

The fact is Jesuit is Jesuit. They will never have an enrollment problem.
Brother Martin has also re invested in their campus and has a strong alumni base.

I would say the number one issue killing Rummel is Holy Cross.

Their moving to a more central location also bolstered by FEMA paid for state of the art campus has created a draw for HC that was not previously to Katrina, attainable.

According to this data base: LINK

The reported enrollments for NOLA Catholic boys schools Including Rummel and De La Salle) for the 2013-14 acedemic year are as follows:

Jes BrM HCr Rum DLS
586 550 289 251 174 Junior High
828 672 730 451 283 Senior High
1,414 1,222 1,019 708 457

WTH is going on with DLS? Why does nobody care? And why can't I do a table on this damn website?
