In retrospect, My Chemical Romance made 2 very very good records.

I am not an emo person, it was after my time, but within the context of the time those two albums are extremely good

I wish Roger was still here.

We need his smug, know-it-all, yet completely out of touch commentary.

Our daughter liked them for a brief period when she went through her emo phase in 7th grade. I think it was mostly because she liked their t-shirts from Hot Topic.

Thankfully that phase didn’t last very long

There's about 8 "best" songs on that album, depending on your mood and preferences. The Middle isn't one of them.

The following albums were the same way, had about 10 great songs per. Jimmy Eat World is one of the most underrated bands of all time, but you wouldn't know it from their radio exposure.

We went and saw their 20th(?) anniversary of The Middle tour a month or two ago. They played the entire album. It was a great show.

For that era I'd still take Brand New, Death Cab and Manchester Orchestra over them. I'd be surprised if Brand New or Manchester Orchestra had a song on that list though.

Agreed. At least one guy in here mentioned The Who. That would have been a Roger comment.

“Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand should be Top 10. That song rocks even though they’re a one hit wonder.

Agreed.

Also lost me when they had Reptilia - The Strokes all the way down at like 138.

I just noticed The National only has one song on the list and once again, not even close to their best song.

Criminal.

You old codgers can hate MCR all you want, but Helena and Welcome to the Black Parade are both great songs that hold up very well today even if they are on the "emo" side

Nah.

Maybe Rock as you grew up with/listened to.

There's a festival here in Louisville that a quarter of a million people attended just last month (and has continued to grow annually) that absolutely says it isn't remotely dead.

I'd rank almost every song on Is This It above most of the songs on the entire list but that's just me.

I hate that song.

Mostly because my wife loves The Killers and has now got my 13 year old liking them, so it plays all the time in my house.

People are kind of ridiculous about MCR I think. They get lumped into this brainless shite emo era

But they made good records. I think Black Parade is an actual great record, one of the best of that decade.

Again, they were after my time, but I think old people need to get over it. At least they were making Rock Music, and some fairly hard music at times.

Would you rather Rock just be almost completely dead like it is now?

You misunderstand me. I’m not hating on MCR. Honestly, I have never heard anything from them. I might like their music for all I know. The only reason I know they exist is because for a brief period of time, anytime we went to a mall, she wanted either one of their t-shirts or a poster.

I was saying that I’m thankful her emo phase didn’t last long (not even an entire school year) because I didn’t want my daughter to go through her high school years being emo.

Rock Band 1 GOATd

Worst song on the OG Rock Band list. Played it and "Electric Version" long enough to get 5 stars and never touch again.

Even being a cover, this was my song.
