So of course one spouse can arbitrarily ruin the marriage. And in that case EVERYTHING favors the wife.

And if your live your life in fear that those things may occur, you're a pussy.

The modern world is fricked and we have strayed too far from nature. Everything will continue to get worse until we have a hard reset.

happy marriages have to be less than 10%

Then why do fewer than 30% of first marriages end in divorce?

Dan is right.

Don’t get married.

It’s one of stupidest financial deals a man can possibly ever make in his entire life

You can pick out a failed marriage on the day of their wedding. But the people getting married either don’t see the issue or don’t want to see the issues

I have friends and I wonder how they haven’t put their heads in the oven.

Most of those things you’re scared about are not the reason divorces occur. Those are low occurrence things

And I know people with nightmare wives. Thing is, my friend isn’t a martyr in the relationship either. Neither party is doing what they should be doing

Think of how awesome it’s gonna be when you die all old, alone, and with no next of kin.

Sure, the Lithuanian guy from the apartment above yours will be there. But, only because he knows he’s gonna get to swipe your flat screen and any loose change you had in the cushions of your sofa.

Have fun with that baw

To be fair, fear of being alone IS a terrible reason to get married.

Fear of what could happen in the future shouldn’t be your guiding motivator.

I can see it from all sides. I've got 31 years in and it's been great. Wife and I were basically kids when we got started and just grew up together as a team. Based on comments from friends and all the comments on here...I admit that it's rare. That being said i have a number of friends in long term marriages that are simply awful - so much so I frequently have encouraged them to get out. So no judgement here.

My death was the last thing I was thinking about. I’m still not thinking about it. I’ve got too much to do.

I’m married with children.

Even if this is true if you're worried about divorce before you get married then you're right, it isn't worth it.

Marriage is the greatest wealth building institution in the West right now. Where a comfortable life used to be had with one working spouse and marriage functioned mostly as a means of family cohesion, it is now a means through which money can be earned at a higher rate for the benefit of those in the marriage. As was said, don't marry a gold digging whore. Marry a partner.

It is like everything else, marriage is for some people and others not so much. There are men who have had terrible experiences and do have a right to be bitter ,and vice versa. I personally wouldn't tell anyone not to get married, but people need to take their time, know the good along with the bad about a future spouse, and if you have any sort of assets you definitely need a prenup so you are not completely fricked if a marriage goes sideways.

Marry a girl who is actually intelligent and makes good money. Problem solved.

the problem is if you're a Joe Rogan, there aren't many women who make close to what he does

marriage is a very scary (financially) proposition for highly successful people. it's just that the vast majority of highly successful people are male. the irony is that on average, earning power increases for men after marriage (and severely decreases for women)

You haven’t been in high level retirement areas apparently. Those people are far from alone. Some people that never have kids may regret it but far from all.

The end of the video has the most truth. Only the lawyers win in contested divorces.
