Serious question, is it worth it?
No one can answer that question for you. All people are different.

i mean, i get it, being a provider is a biological need for men.
the thought process goes "if I have to live a miserable life being a cog in the machine, at least I want to have someone home to support and love".
but this person you are supporting does not love the same way you do. her love is more shallow and fickle. women in love

Having a fine arse wife around all of the time is not terrible, no matter what they tell you.

Making a decision to marry is a sign of responsibility, responsible people make better decisions, people who make better decisions by and large make more money. Stands to reason that married couples would build wealth faster. It also has to do with child-rearing, a single parent will be spending more money on childcare than a two-parent household, wherein the parents can jointly juggle work and childcare.
I don't disagree with any of this, but there are additional factors that play a part.
Think of the effect it would have if you could can put twice as much money into tax advantaged investment vehicles.

actually the thought process is that I want to have children and I want to find someone that fits certain traits in order to have successful offspring
