Legally you did the correct thing once you returned. You could have been charged with at least manslaughter. Once you flee you can’t come back with a gun shoot and claim self defense.

Yea, where was this at in city park?

I fish there a lot.. usually get there as the sun is coming up and don’t usually see any riff raff.. but I can imagine that place being a little shady after dark, and before the sun comes up

Need to find another place to fingerbang your ol lady bro

Are you really asking why someone would go to City Park? It's the best park of it's kind in the whole state with a lot of nice things to do.

A few times a year we hear reports like the OP of bad stuff happening late at night, but it's not like it's in a bad part of town.

I enjoy nola but live outside the city. But is there anything about the city that you don’t like? In EVERY thread about nola you prop up everything to be the greatest ever while usually putting down “rednecks” or some other derogatory term. I just don’t get it.

It’s just that Nola is a poorly run, crime ridden shithole

frick that. A statement like this is on the city, not the victim. This is a free damn country and law abiding citizens should have every right to go to whatever public place they want to, when they want to.

I hate the crime, streets, idiot politicians, etc, etc.

90% of the the OT posters that chime in on Nola threads are totally negative, so I have to balance it out.

Seriously, the guy asked why would someone go to City Park. I thought it deserved a valid response. I'm there once a week with my kids and it's an awesome place.

I always run to the OT to tell my story when I've been robbed at gun point.

It's the only logical move.

Does no one here conceal carry? May not help when your sneaked up on with a gun to your head but I don't leave the house without mine. You must have the equal advantage, always.

I don't know the reason why the OP was at the park, but I recently went to a wedding reception at that building (forgot the name) behind Popp's Fountain, and by the time reception was over it was past midnight. And had to walk to where I was parked.

So there are reasons to be in the park late at night.

Yep. It was by cultcha. Was driving on the highway and this dude pointed a gun out his window at me trying to get me to slow down. I slammed on the brakes, hopped the center grass, and he followed me but fortunately his suv was slow as shite.

Anyone who believes it's this easy has never been in the situation. In about 85% of robberies, it would be a horrible idea to try and make any quick action, particularly when you're with another individual.

OP, what was the location? Can have them check the plate readers in the Area, they're up.
