People in my neighborhood (mid city) used to get robbed at least once a week. On St. Louis right across for Pandoras snowball stand. Awesome looking neighborhood, but they picked/pick people off like sheep, there.
Born and raised in NOLA, but after having been jumped too many times to count as a kid, and robbed at gunpoint twice, I moved to Mandeville and couldn’t be happier. Keeping my kids in the city wasn’t worth it.

I lived in that neighborhood for years. I knew guys who were mugged on the corner by Pandora’s. And like you said, pretty good neighborhood.

The attitude towards people being in City Park has changed a lot since I was a kid. 30 years ago City Park police would follow you if you drove into the park South of 610 late at night.

A guy tried to rob me with a knife years ago. I was pissed off and fueled with liquid courage. I just walked right by him and never looked back until. I got to the corner. He was just standing in place looking confused.
