When my oldest child was born, the hospital sent us home with a VHS tape about parenting the new baby. It was hosted by Reiner and he was wearing a fuzzy purple sweater. Wife and I were like, get a load of Meathead here with the words of wisdom

A Few Good Men and Harry met Sally are both in my personal Top Ten[tm]… If he had only done those two films he’d be a legend .. you add in Princess Bride, Spinal Tap, freakin’ STAND BY ME et al and the guy is one of the best directors who ever lived , 2nd best of all time imo … godspeed

Politics aside, the man had a tremendous career and had a memorable impact on Hollywood and movie fans. RIP to him and his wife.
