Right. I have seen a lot of the portable camp toilet sized tents.

Didn't think about those tents falling into that category.

Glad I'm riding 2nd weekend to see how strictly they will be enforcing the bag law. I'm guessing the cameras on the route used to catch riders with no masks will also be used to catch those throwing bags.

I always walked right through those tent areas and never responded to anyone who said a word to me.

I thought this was about cruise ships becoming even more squalid.

The council placed restrictions on the number of “elements” permitted before the first float and between each float.
The term ‘Element’ was defined by the council as, “any marching band, military bands, dance club, walking club, riding club, or dance troupe in a Mardi Gras float parade larger than a group of fifteen participants, not including chaperones, helpers, support vehicles, and public safety vehicles."
The only thing that makes sense on this list

None of those rules will be followed and NOPD won't enforce any of them.

We have brought them out only to be used for elderly, toddlers/babies, or if the forecast shows a pretty high percentage of rain to have some sort of cover in order to wait it out.
They make these wonderful things called umbrellas and ponchos.
And then you don't have to be a selfish douche and try to claim and block an area that technically doesn't belong to anyone.

For security, enclosed containers including box trucks, cargo vans, campers, etc are not allowed to be within two blocks of the parade routes. They have to be removed at least four hours before and after parades.
This is a fricking travesty. In college, we'd put two or three couches, two portolets, and 30 or so kegs of beer in a U-Haul and rent three parking spots from the city and park it on St. Joseph about 50 feet from St. Charles from Thursday until Mardi Gras with the door pointed toward St. Charles and just fricking party non-stop for 5 days. Plenty of room for people who came out for the parades to line up and still leave 20 or 30 feet between the crowd and the truck.
I fricking hate people these days. #teamcoronavirus

biodegradable paper
Is this like a hot water heater?
All paper is biodegradable, I’d really like to see this magical non-biodegradable paper of which you speak. I think it’s called “wood”.

Pre-packaged bulk throws cannot be thrown or tossed off of floats before being removed from plastic.
What do they mean by bulk throws? Only the poor folks throw single beads for the most part.

Can't wait to see their plan to actually enforce these new regulations.
that should be a simple matter of having a police car followed by garbage truck followed by parish work crew drive the parade route 30 minutes before the parade
if they see a tent or canopy or ladders or whatever is banned, rip it down and throw it in garbage truck and crush it, cops take anyone into custody if they got an issue with it

The toilet paper was super trashy. Impossible to clean up. I get it

Good. That was a good way to kill someone.

Eventually there won't be anything left to throw. We'll only be able to HAND over bottles of water...but, those are single use bottles...probably not even that will be allowed.
I wonder if some of these new rules were coming about since someone is now trying to peddle Mardi Gras tee shirts as throws.
As much as Mardi Gras costs now a days, if it were allowed, I would just go the bank an ask for 1,000 dollars in singles and throw that instead. And 500 dollars in half dollars or quarters.
I can even remember one year, Popeyes came up with a deal that was a special dabbloon that got you a free two piece dark meal.
Then there was that incident in Terrebonne where someone thought it was a good idea to buy some old rap cassettes with explicit/controversial lyrics as throws.
