My lab is 15 years old and looks like she won't make it past the summer. Not looking forward to this.

Mine died at 13 right around four years ago. I haven’t had a dog since and don’t plan to.

My shiba died a couple years ago at the ripe old age of 17.
ETA now that I think about it, it was 4 years ago. The vet was still closed to the public for covid but let us in to put her down. I walked past the line of people waiting in their cars while absolutely sobbing. Ugly face crying. Not my proudest moment.

Lost a 4 year old golden doodle last night. It has been a miserable day. Her brother is waiting by the door all day. I've had older dogs die and it's not as bad as having a young one die.

We had a Shiba for several years but gave him up due to work travel -he was alone too much.
Cried when the new owners took him and cried we he passed at the age of 15.
Still tear up thinking of my Doberman passing 40 years ago...
