My dad always talks about seeing fats play once a week when he was in college. I got to see him once at Jazzfest thankfully. RIP

My Dad will have his day shite on when he finds out.

My Dad when I was a kid had a Teac “Reel to Reel” system. He’d break that beast out every once in a while if he had more that 3 Schlitz.

Also in the car driving from Texas to visit family in LA Fats was on the 8-track at some point during the trip.

I remember when he did Walking to New Orleans at the Super Bowl. And of course, Ritchie Cunningham always singing Blueberry Hill whenever he was about to get some from Lori Beth.

I'm glad I'm old enough to remember him in nostalgia form but not old enough to have seen him back in the day.
