Before he was famous, he lived behind my great grandmother when she lived in the ninth ward on Tennessee St.. She always gave his family dinners and food.. She claimed to help coin his name "Fats"...

Sad day. My personal favorite artist from New Orleans. My Grandparents would tell me stories of him coming down to Buras to play at the old JU's Lounge. He came back years later to do a show and someone stole the hubcaps of his Cadillac and he never came back again

saw him In the rain at Jazzfest with about 100 other people.

yes he would. I recently watched the Netflix documentary and he was in awe of working with Roy Orbison as the Traveling Wilbury's.
He said he asked Roy for his autograph every day---made me smile.
