Just got to Keesler AFB in Biloxi in 78 after spending 18 months in Japan. Walked into the record store at the Edgewater mall and they had the Cars playing on their in store audio system. Bought it on the spot. Bong, bong, bong, bong, bong, bong, bong, I got the night life baby. Lets go.

Ric himself was from Baltimore. My fault. Not the whole band

Loved the Cars but they weren’t known to have great live performances.

He totally ruined Bad Brains’ Rock For Light with his remastered and remixed version. He’s not liked in many circles for similar things.

I never got too into The Cars but I like a couple songs.

Not really underrated since they were inducted into the RRHOF.

The summer of 78 was kick arse. The Cars album played in the back ground at many a pool parties that summer. RIP Rick.

It was my first taste of that style music which was somewhat New Wave but not exclusively. The whole music scene changed with them.

man frick this sunday

i’m only 26 and way after their time, but i’ve always held the opinion that The Cars are the most criminally underrated American band of all time

The Cars were great and better than any musical act that has formed in the last 20 years.
