My dad retired as an oilfield executive and now drives a school bus at 72 years old. He loves it. It keeps him up early and lets him stay productive.

Call people and tell them you're with Microsoft, and their computer has a problem you can fix. You may have to learn to speak English as though you are a foreigner to qualify for that one.

You’ll have to bid but most customers have a pretty good idea of what it will cost to get the job done, and that’s based off loaded miles. You make your money by finding a front haul up to Indiana and ideally finding something else once you get to Atlanta. You’ll make good money if you can avoid many deadhead miles
I’m not too familiar with that type of hauling, but I’d Wave Express is a dispatch company they should be able to tighten up your round. Of course, they will skim some off what the customer is willing to pay but you’ll find some direct contacts pretty quick if you run some consistent lanes

I’d do something construction wise, as said with raw land is a great idea. You work 7-5 time wise, bid your jobs and only do the fun ones, and work the days you want.
I always thought it would be fun owning a piece of machinery to rent out like a bobcat, stump grinder, mini excavator, etc.
The only real negative is the investment in the machinery. And of course learning to use it if you don’t know how.

If you plan on living in the 5th wheel, you can volunteer at the state parks. It doesn't pay, but you get to stay in the park for free which cuts your living expenses and will give you something to do.
