just a bit of reality.... Im newly retired and have never been more busy in my life. All of the undone projects around the house, last minute pop up issues, I am the uber driver for the kids as well as a door dasher for all of their meals (spolied brats). I usually have no idea what day it is and I am utterly exhausted by days end... hoping I dont get a heart attack

Yeah, it's amazing how the number of projects, chores, tasks that pop up out of nowhere can happen. I fix as much as I possibly can around the house. I will YouTube and fix just about anything I can.
Plus, I keep adding more projects on top of everything else due to hobbies, and we keep adding hobbies. As an example, we just recently added kayaking (recreationally and fishing) as another hobby. I've been building portable kayak racks, a portable kayak launching system, custom trailer, rigging out kayaks, etc.
I like designing, MacGyvering, and doing everything myself, so I have a propensity to create new projects.

I get my 1st SS check in a month... Gonna be livin' high on the Hog.
When I retire, gonna scan and read every single WWII letter I own. Research for my museum and write WWII Movies.

Stop acting like a sissy and maybe you can retire someday.
For me, I let my company know a few weeks back that I’m hanging it up next June. I might work some remote hours after that just to keep healthcare until my wife turns 65. But that will be completely my call as on my conditions. I’ll settle in for golf, hunting, fishing at our place in Western NC, and an absolute shite ton of travel (before I’m too old to do it right), and I’ll find an organization I want to volunteer for or maybe join a board.

Well deserved my man. I’m with you, busted my as$ for many years.
Enjoy your hobbies, that’s what keeps me busy.
This Bud is on me, cheers

I’ll be retired by 55. If I’m lucky, maybe a bit earlier.
Part of me can’t wait, but the other part doesn’t want to be that old.

I retired 2 years ago at 68. Since then, with time to really focus on my health, my investments, my home and my extended family, my health, weight and fitness are better than anytime in the last 25 -30 years.
I have increased my wealth substantially by having time to spend focused on actively managing it.
I have had an enormous amount of my time spent helping my own family and my extended family. Me being retired also makes it much easier for my wife to travel out of state to help her parents.
Best wishes on your retirement! Make the best of it.
I have time to work on my cars, to repair things I would otherwise have called a service company to take care of. Hell, I just ripped out a tub and am putting in a shower by myself. I'm sure I'll make mistakes, but it's okay if I do.
I've got golf with friends, fishing with my son, participating in autocross

There’s great advice in this post by Hubba.
Keeping busy is key.
Again, congratulations.
