A couple of places got some high profile heat over it and the City started making their lives difficult so most places have stopped doing it.

And they would probably be dumb enough to include Walk On’s because they closed that year when they legit had a sewer/water pipe break.
There were people unironically saying Walk-On's flooded themselves on purpose to avoid serving black people

Sounds like a golden opportunity for Mr. SuperSunday to run a food truck on those occasions.

And it’s amazing that people can’t understand that the Essence crowd is nothing like the Bayou Classic crowd.
What are the places that close for Essence?

A city telling a business that they arent allowed to close

Yep
Bayou Classic crowd is as bad as it gets
Essence is a much more affluent crowd but they still dont tip and are generally pretty demanding of a server

It’s not many. I’m not sure who closes that week.

I thought tipping was bad now. There's a thread about it every week.

My understanding is that not one single piece of meat was grilled in a hotel bathroom this weekend.

Because swifties don't eat chitlins, dine n dash, tip like humsns , and are white. Pick 3 or just pick em all.

Classic case of stupid or liar.

By the way, this wasn't really the case about 30 years ago or so - last time I waited tables. You'd get about as much resistance from the staff to taking a table full of such biddies as you would one of the ostensible topic of the thread.

This never happens during essence unless a place has a legit issue. The essence crowd
Is typically well off and spends money.
Bayou classic is the trashiest weekend in New Orleans, I won’t deny it happens for that.

gee I wonder why?
I once went to New Orleans with some buddies and we didn't realize it was Essence festival. This was 10 or 15 years ago so things my have changed but we had a blast.
