I think in the middle of that punk’s monologue about how tough he is I’d clarify two things one just be clear. You’re threatening the safety and well-being of my person number two. I’m too old to fist fight anymore. Then I would add since I’m too old to fist fight and you’re so young new and tough yet you’ve threatened the safety of my well-being. I’m well within my right to put a fricking bullet in your head and that’s what’s about to happen if you don’t back the frick up right now.

The question is What would John Wick do?

You have to read the room. If you are alone and there is a group of 20 year olds, drunk. You dont shout at them like a grumpy old man.

I would have suggested we leave the establishment to my date. If we are waiting for our food and plan to stay. At most, I would have approached them and ask them to keep it down. Probably offer to buy them some fries or something

Now if the 20 year old approached us without being prompted , at 52 , I really think I would have attacked him at some point during the speech and tried my hardest to hurt him really bad, quickly. After that, do the best I can with whatever happens next.

I’d handle it the same way I did when I was in Memphis a few years ago. I was walking to rendezvous for dinner and this ole boy started impeding my progress, and had various questions that I didn’t answer. He finally said “why you got your hand in your pocket” to which I replied “I think we both know why, and I’d like to be on my way”. Sure as shite, ole boy let me freely pass.

Yah, my old arse wouldn't have confronted them the first time. I would've asked my date if we could go elsewhere
