Broken windows, splintered furniture, cement in the plumbing and e-mail station computers thrown into the lake.

These are just a few of the acts of vandalism McVoy Hall residents reported hearing about last semester that culminated in almost $10,000 worth of damages, which were taken out of the building's operating funds, not from student pockets.

quote:

"Some people threw computers in the lake, broke lamps, poured cement down the drain in one of the bathrooms, stole a golf cart," said Nawsheen Hossen, psychology sophomore and former resident of McVoy.

quote:

Schroeder said the most obvious act of vandalism was someone writing "Mr. Danny" all over the walls and curtains of the residence hall.

Other reports of vandalism include door locks being super glued and stuffing furniture into the elevator, causing the elevator to be shut down for several days.

Waller said this past year's vandalism to McVoy cost approximately $9,800 to repair.

"The damages ranged from broken windows and door glass, vandalism to the card access system on the outside doors, vandalism to exit signs, to mixing concrete in a bathtub," Waller said.

Actually probably quite smart hence why no one was charged money and they took it from the buildings operating budget.

This is not the thing to be posting this on. Youth throughout history have done stuff like this.

They need surveillance cameras. Why do they not already have them? This is pathetic.

You need to put the year in the title. Apparently most of the posts missed the fact that this was you reminiscing about your glory days as a vandal back at LSU. Statute of limitations got you covered though baw!

I was there some time in the mid oughts, and we were doing shite like that. They could never prove it was us. We did more prank type stuff rather than straight up property destruction. One time someone who isn't me glued a desk chair in the elevator with some really hardcore epoxy. They had to saw it out with a power saw.

I only lived there my first semester and then I moved into the fraternity house because it was a much better deal.

One trick I've seen done several times, is to fill up a trash can with water, lean it against a random door, knock on said door, and run like all hell

<—- animal house would be proud.

I still have the reveille paper put up somewhere, I need to find it and take a pic

Was it actually true that concrete down drains ended up being discovery of asbestos all in the building’s pumbling? Also, the best were watching prospective students come by with their parents while on a group tour was always great: either the elevator would open and be completely full of furniture or one of the sleazy girls would start talking loud in the lobby about The rash that was going around the girls floor from the guys

Lol, when I lived in the Engineering Residential College Dorm (2009), someone put a couch in the elevator and set it on fire. I want to say it was finals week or maybe mid-terms.

Good pranks have a layer of intelligence and don’t involve destruction of property.

Vandalism is just lazy trashy behavior.

I do t remember exactly I lived in McVoy 2006-2007 and then moved out to ECA. If I remember correctly they did do some asbestos abatement shortly after.

If it was the concrete that led to the discovery

The whole Mr. Danny thing was hilarious
