That was my point that OLMbutshark didn't get. Ridicule these motherfrickers in EVERY way. Hell, if they aren't hung like a doorbell...cut their shite off and sew little seahorse on them. Make sure they know that they will be seen as the weakest, most beta, dumbshit fricktards they really are.
No I got your stupid little point. That still glorifies them, in some fricked up way. Your point is incredibly stupid.

I just read Obama's speech from earlier today. He absolutely 100% spoke for political reasons and not to support the families. Trying to take advantage of an opportunity to divide and conquer
Has it been posted yet that Oregon passed a law that was very similar to what Obama wanted in 2013 and will probably bring back up again? If not well here you go. LINK The police said that there was nothing in the shooter's background that would have stopped him under the law. Has that been posted as well?

In May, Gov. Brown signed into law a bill requiring background checks on private gun sales, like those set up through online communications.
The law, which took effect in August, subjects those sales to the same mental-health and criminal checks required by federal law at retail outlets nationwide.

A law enforcement official said it didn’t appear that Mr. Mercer had committed any criminal offenses in the past that would have prohibited him from buying guns.

At this point if your against the reformation of the manufacturing, sale, and possession of firearms there is lots of blood on your hands. There is no logical argument that supports this entrenched political stance.
I've yet to meet an intelligent person who thinks otherwise.

Yeah except for that thing called the Constitution

I think it is rather intelligent to realize that if someone is dead set on shooting someone or a group, first they will obtain a gun sooner or later plus if they are not concerned about the punishment they will receive for attempted murder or murder itself, a gun law or "reformation" of gun vending by licensed dealers will do nothing to stop them.

I understand that most people are stupid and reactionary, but now that you know you are, maybe you can sit back and think a little deeper about what you say
Since you are such a genius in your eyes, what would you have done to prevent this from happening? Background checks? Already done. Waiting period? Done in a lot of places with major crime problems. Gun free zones? Already done. Mental health checks? Where is the line drawn? The guy today seemed to be completely fine. Completely outlawing guns? See Chicago, D.C., and NYC.
All of the proper procedures are in place currently. Doing any more will just make it much harder for regular people to go about their business
Eta: I recently drove through California. The law there is that my gun and magazine had to be completely separated in their own locked containers. So when someone starts shooting at me, I've got to fumble around to get the key out for the magazine container, open the lock, grab the magazine out, then switch to finding the key for the actual gun container, then open the lock, and then stick the mag in there and hope the person shooting at me hasn't shot me yet
It is a felony if I have one in a locked container and the other one in an unlocked container. That legislation has helped exactly zero percent, and has probably gotten a lot of law abiding citizens shot while they were fumbling around

Ah. I misunderstood your post. I never heard the press ID any of the others, but I could have missed it.
The sheriff refused to say his name and won't. I'm not sure how the media got it, but several said it was confirmed.

CNN just showed the shooter's father. He said he wasn't giving a statement. It has been a devastating day for them and they wanted privacy. He also said they were shocked. Didn't sound like he had a question in his mind about his son as the shooter.

I'm intelligent. I think otherwise. I have no blood on my hands. I am not responsible for what someone else does. They are responsible for what they do.

Putting more laws and regulations in place will certainly provide more laws and regulations for the criminally insane to not give a shite about while unduly burdening the law abiding citizen's right o protect and secure himself.
Do you know the laws and regulations in place in Oregon already or are you ignorantly spouting talking points the Main stream media feeds you?
This is an absolutely brutal tragedy. And it is equally brutal to use it as a means to a ignorant and unnecessary political end. No amount of regulations will stop this. Refunding and reopening mental health clinics accross the nation coupled with educating the public and allowing ease of access to mental health facilities might be a step in the right direction. Gun control is not.

Small world. What are the gun laws like in France and Belgium or Netherlands or wherever the train was coming from? Do they have strict laws, outright bans, or something in between?

How many times have you had a series discussion on this topic? I'm going to guess zero. Oh and watching CNN or MSNBC and listening to the garbage those hosts spew doesn't count.

People won't like this but the U.S. needs to follow England and ban all firearms period.

Letting a few dictate everything seems like a way to have more right taken away in the name of safety..no thanks

That's a great idea...well except for the fact their murder rate is pretty much the same as before the gun ban but their violent crime rate has steadily gone up since the ban.
quote:
The total violent crime (including homicide) rate of England and Wales in 1997 was approximately 479 per 100,000 people versus the violent crime rate in 2011 of 1,465 per 100,000,[iv] an tripling of the crime rate.
Also sexual offenses increased in England and Wales from approximately 63.1 per 100,000 in 1997 to 98 crimes per 100,000 in 2011. The rate of rape per 100,000 increased from approximately 12.6 in 1997 to 28.4 in 2011 an increase of 2 times.
In England and Wales the homicide rate with firearms decreased from 8% of homicides in 1997 to 6.6% of homicides in 2009. However, according to the UN statistics the total homicide rate of the UK remained basically the same. So those committing homicides only changed their weapon. Also according to data from the British government the homicide rate was 1.1 in 1986 and was also 1.2 in 2009, although the rate had fluctuated some it remained basically the same.
Rather than helping England’s crime rate it seems that gun control laws have made the crime rate greater than before. From the time the gun control measures were implemented England’s crime rate has increased. During the same period of time the United States crime rate has decreased.
