Per SEC: FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Arkansas Athletics) – The OmaHogs are back!
The Arkansas Razorbacks are headed back to Omaha for the 12th time in program history after a 11-4 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers in game two of the Fayetteville Super Regional.
The Hogs jumped to an early lead in the top of the third inning after a two-run blast from Charles Davalan (2 for 2, 2 RBIs) got the offense started. The Volunteers quickly responded by putting one across in the bottom of the inning.
However, after a Cam Kozeal score on a wild pitch and Logan Maxwell’s (3 for 5, 4 RBIs) first career grand-slam opened the floodgates for the Razorbacks taking the lead 5-1 in the fourth and it was all the Hogs needed.
Cole Gibler came in relief in the bottom of the fourth after a solid Gage Wood start (3.1 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 48 PC). GIbler cruised through 2.2 IP after sitting down 8 of 10 batters faced on 45 pitches.
