When they say We, do they mean the plant in general or specific countries?

We used to care about clean air and water. Hell the EPA was established under Nixon. Now the environment has become politicized.

Well, MOST of the plastic would be eliminated if India and China would stop dumping entire truckloads of trash into their rivers every minute of the day. 24/7.
But that’s too much to ask. Or demand.
But let’s stop using plastic straws!!!

The only way to get additional funding is to say there's a problem.

If anybody thinks we're not totally fricking up the entire planet, it's because they don't want to believe it. And they're stupid.

De-forestation and plastic waste piling up are two things that I think we can really prevent if humanity cared enough.

I agree with you about preventing plastic waste build ups. It’s a tragedy the amount of trash that is in the ocean. But how can we stop deforestation? As long as the populations trends upward, we will need the space.

We should start with the welfare recipients first.

Not that I necessarily disagree... but compared to the populations of places like India and China, this wouldn't even be making a dent.

We actually have a shitton of open space for people without cutting down rainforests.

We cut down rainforests for resources, farmland and things like palm oil plantations.

I have no opinion on the report, because I’m still trying to wrap to my head around the name of the group.

Trump is the only person calling out China for anything. Until others do then there is not much we can do for the environment.

The most remarkable info to come out of this is that we've been tracking global biomass since prehistory. It is just awesome that, since we've been able to write, we've had somebody responsible for traveling the planet and accurately adding up biomass. Awesome, and absolutely believable.

I hate when this topic is phrased this way. If you agree that humans are indeed animals and naturally part of Earth, then everything we do is part of the "natural world".

That being said, do I think humans are greatly manipulating the environment to suite our own species more so than others? Yes.
