YES! Exactly. It's political! The scientists all around the world are making up lies to somehow make money in their convoluted schemes. Listen to the fossil-fuel funded politicians. They'll tell you the truth.

Do you believe these reports to be legit? Or are they being overblown? What should the OT do about this?

I am not sure, so I need funding for research.

Right. And if Americans can be conned into paying 60%+ income taxes & absurd carbon taxes, all will be peachy (until the Progs come back for all the rest of your assets)

And give up that damn gun - owning one is obvious Hate Speech!

Please link me those reports.

That seems ridiculous.

This is just from a quick Google search. I can pull more up later.

If you don't believe that researchers have financial motives to fudge their studies, especially with unknowable numbers like biomass dating back to prehistory, you're clueless and naive as can be.

Nah, I ignore them.

Just as I ignore the politicians pushing these articles.

There's no doubt we have negative impacts

But the true believers are drama queen

You don't think historical biomass numbers can be calculated to a reasonable degree, yet you call me clueless.

For the entire planet, dating back to prehistory? Nope. Even for smaller systems many assumptions need to be made. For the entire planet for all that time there is much wiggle room and opportunities to finesse the answer you want.

Might be quicker cause I sprayed 320 gallons yesterday.

Sorry about that.

There is a downside to the growth of the human race. And we can't all live on top of each other.

Relatedly, biodiversity "is declining faster than at any time in human history."

The world is dynamic, and as conditions change so does "normal" or "natural". The idea that we should preserve everything in a static way is ridiculous.

Read Sapiens, most of the species that have inhabited the earth in the past have been replaced by new ones that were better adapted to the current conditions.

We actually have a shitton of open space for people without cutting down rainforests.

We cut down rainforests for resources, farmland and things like palm oil plantations.

The most remarkable info to come out of this is that we've been tracking global biomass since prehistory. It is just awesome that, since we've been able to write, we've had somebody responsible for traveling the planet and accurately adding up biomass. Awesome, and absolutely believable.

Sarcastic logic like this is one of many reasons why you can't even have a conversation about this topic with most people.
