didn't all that rain fall within about 24 hours, as well? Current totals are spread out over 5-7 days.
Not exactly the same.

Nope. Unless I'm missing a major piece of this entire forecast puzzle, I believe this is all supposed to fall between tomorrow and Thursday morning.

Yeah NWS New Orleans is expecting all of this between tonight and Thursday. The chart they just showed isn't as bad as 2016. Still a ton of rain but their "worst case" scenario was 10-15" in some areas

not trying to argue about it, but seems there are conflicting forecasts out there. is this what your source showed?

Level with me here weather gurus: My son is at sleep away camp in Bay St. Louis. Do I need to go get him? I feel like it'll be fine but the Texas camp flood tragedy from last year has my wife concerned.

fradella was saying expect those higher totals to slide more east because of it being such a disorganized system

Does the camp flood? if not then he will be fine

No idea, its the first time he has gone but it is on the coast.
I will tell my wife that the OT said hes fine and I'm sure that will put her at ease.

where is the camp in BSL?
If it is on the bay or river it may flood but it will be a slow rising tidal flood, nothing whatsoever like Texas.

Unless this becomes Katrina II, I'm pretty sure Bay St. Louis is fine.
The Camp Stanislaus water skiing class should be fun this week, though.

As of now, NOAA and the NWS are way more conservative than some of the projections being posted here

Well at least we get one tropical storm hitting us this season out of the way and not be a Cat 3 or worse.
Statistically this is good for Louisiana.
