What was the game with the pole (like a tether ball pole) but it had a bucket thing on top with spouts coming off of it

Slidell had some insane wooden structure playground in the late 80s or early 90s. I just remember half the structures were rotting away and they all were multiple levels and exceedingly dangerous.

Anyone remember the all wood playgrounds at St Barnabas and maybe Ascension here in Lafayette?

I'm the same. To me, it'll always be Christmas in the Oaks.

The only one of those that was really bad was that long slide. I made mistake of sliding down that thing in August one time in shorts and shoeless and it burned the hell out of me. You could fry an egg on it

Remember trying to swing all the way around on a swing set. We had never heard of theoretical maximums and such.
I could stick the backflip dismount every single time.

Yeah, we climbed all over it long before it was restored like it is now. The cockpit was open and we climbed inside the fuselage. There was no concrete landing pad at the time and we fell off of it many times (fortunately) into the surrounding grass and dirt. Good times as a kid in the 70s (yes Miss Liz, I am that much older than you

Loved tetherball! But the King Strikes, that’s what I called them.

Wow. You’d maybe see this in Utah or Alaska today.

That rocket slide was no joke during July and August.

My playground did as well. Love climbing on that thing even after falling from the top of it on to the rock hard sun baked dirt floor. Good times, poor little bastards today will never know.
