I don't think it was prescribed with AZM for lupus, arthritis, and malaria. Perhaps that was where the concerns came from.
I'm not really giving an opinion on it because it's all above my pay grade. The idea that the media opposed it because Trump was for it just isn't all that true. In the April through June/July time period, there were numerous clinical studies that showed the drug combination was either too dangerous or was ineffective. There certainly was some encouraging observational cases where it seemed to work.

The media was full of fricking shite with HCQ simply because trump said it
But, as it relates to hospitals, they tried it. They tried it a shite ton. No matter what you think, the doctors in the hospitals wanted it to work. Even the liberal ones

Non-political? The FBI was showing up at the Dr’s home. Stop being obtuse bc a 5 yr old would comprehend the intimidation tactics used to silence Doctors, Pharmacists, and researchers.
A state board isn’t going to suddenly ban a medication that’s been safe for decades without that order coming from someone powerful enough to make life rough for them.

But it was helpful before a patient was bad enough to end up in a hospital. My momma got so sick and we were extremely worried. I mentioned calling a family friend to get a script for HCQ but the problem was we wouldn’t be able to fill it. Then her boyfriend realized that was one of his meds since being in remission. She started it immediately and my sister got her some Azithromycin.
You could see how she started to slowly reverse back normal within a day or two. I definitely know it was a blessing to have access to it bf she got worse.

And there were places that used it and it worked great. There's an assisted living center near my home where the lead doctor used it on his patients and had huge success. When the media started telling people how dangerous it was he wound up getting in some trouble because he didn't tell the patients families beforehand that he was using it. Nevermore it saved their loved ones lives.

You do realize with the small sample size of 1 assisted living center and a virus survival rate of 99% they couldve taken nothing and most likely not had any deaths right? I didn't take anything when I got it besides whiskey and I recovered. I don't think that means the whiskey cured it.
That's what makes the virus so difficult, we still don't know exactly why it hits some people (less than 0.5%) so much harder than everyone else

That's kind of my point. At many of those Covid press conferences what Trump said completely contradicted when Fauci and other members of his Covid task force had said not 2 minutes before. How was the media supposed to report on that? Take his word over the word of people that have worked in public health for decades? Not to mention a lot of what Trump said was just nonsensical.
And don't take that as me bowing down at the altar of Fauci, but when it comes to public health I'm certainly going to listen to what he says over Trump.
