This guy is caught ON TAPE bribing somebody, and gets acquitted.

I mean honestly, is there any other single example of why Louisiana can't have nice things than this? The guy is ON TAPE bribing somebody, and gets off. Unreal.

"Money talks, all that other stuff walks."

Just unbelievable.

In court, after seeing the video, he said "That's not me."

If you don’t admit to shite, they must acquit.

This is a pay to play state, California is too in a different way.
If you have the right lawyer who knows the system, and have access to quick cash, you can beat a lot here.

He'll be up for reelection. I wont be surprised if he wins. People here are just in it for themselves and will vote him in again; and he's "connected" with a certain "family".

I’ve heard he’s not running again. He was only pushed to run last time as a spoiler candidate to keep Cointmont out of the runoff, but instead kept the establishment backed candidate out. The Donaldsonville Democrat Machine then went full-tilt behind him and he managed to win by a couple dozen votes. If he were running again, Cointmont likely would beat him by 15-20 points. They’ll find someone less damaged to oppose Clint. I’ve even heard rumors of people lobbying for Martinez to run again. They’re desperate.

A good example as to why Ascension Parish is pretty much following the BR model for how to frick up what could have been a good thing. Development out of control, family connections decide land usage and re-zoning, traffic is a nightmare, etc. The good old boys paired with zero vision or planning.

That DSLD money is starting to run deep here throughout St. Tammany. Areas of the parish with $400k+ homes not getting surrounded by these shitty shacks.

Ole Kenny aint running for re-election because he knows the damn writing on the wall. He'd get exactly 8 votes and he has 10 family members.

You're an idiot if you think this doesn't happen in every town or village on earth.

I’d argue the good ole boys are much worse in AP, LP, and other surrounding parishes than it is in Baton Rouge. Now granted BR has other issues with the mayor and metro council but the good ole boy network is much more ingrained in the small towns surrounding it
