Not entirely positive but I’m pretty sure Delta mainline still flies 717s out of BTR

Unfortunately I’m stuck with American for points but I’m gonna stay on the lookout for Delta planes and get on one just to cross it off

All of the RJs have great safety records.

Every airframe certified to fly into the US does.

That is your only option to get somewhere on a less active route. They don't make money flying empty seats.

Getting the private jet’s shitter fixed or something?
I know this was meant as a joke but.... The OP is exactly what someone who has traveled on one would feel. Having traveled on a corporate jet halfway across the country for a football game, I will feel like I'm slumming it when we fly to Aspen this fall on a regional jet. Same thing with vacation homes. We spend a week every year at the company vacation house. Our only cares in the world are what movie we're going to watch in theater along with what cigars we'll pair with what spirits (and vice versa). I could never go back to $200/night VRBOs (we pay taxes based on $5,000/night) and traveling primarily on commercial/dealing with TSA's bullshite.

FWIW, private jets are much more smooth than regional jets but it's not a huge difference. I used to fly on SWA all the time and never had an issue. The one bad experience was on a Brasilia turboprop when flying on Delta from GTR to ATL. So bad that I drive the 90 minutes to Birmingham every time after that.

Also FWIW, the most comfortable seat on the jet we use is the seat in the bathroom.

So…were you like the lawyer girl in Landman downing drinks and cheering the second half of the flight?

Why do people want to pretend that MSY is worse than ATL?
I wasn't comparing MSY to ATL, I was comparing it to GPT - last time I flew to Atlanta from Gulfport I was parked, checked in, through security, and sitting at the gate in less than 10 minutes.

ATL is by far the worse airport. My point was really about the convenience of flying out of GPT. It's a small regional airport with plenty of parking, virtually no security lines, and fares that are often less expensive than you'd expect. As an added bonus, I get upgraded to First Class on most of my flights.

It's only an extra 15 minutes drive time as well for me.

I used to fly on ERJ145’s about 4 legs a month for 6-7 years. I swear it could feel every breeze in those things. Had a flight between BTR and IAH once where it felt like the pilot was doing his damndest to fly through every thunderhead like he got a bonus every time he hit one. There were a few times where it felt like we dropped 500 feet in about 5 seconds. I think I lost about 6 lbs of water through my palms on that flight.

I don’t love it. I enjoy flying but I don’t enjoy crashing

I once had an older gentleman sitting next to me on a flight from NOLA back to SLC. It was springtime so the air was very unstable and was turbulent the entire way. The old man was visibly nervous. While we talked, I mentioned planes were exponentially safer than cars. He said to me
"If I were to crash in a car, I wouldn't have 30000 feet to think about it"
Touche old man. Touche.

I like flying the ERJ145s. You get to feel everything and if you sit on the A side you get a solo seat. CRJ200s should all be scrapped.

I don't think those smaller planes even have shocks.

You should go back in time and fly a Dash-8. You'd be thankful every day for a Bombardier CRJ.

King Air's crash more frequently around 2012 I was flying around BTR and a pilot said I'm going to crash who was flying a King Air. The ATC kept trying to get the pilot to repond and after about 3 minutes a pilot with his thick cajun accent said He said I'm going to crash. And flying into North Dakota a lot more windy. Back in the Miles Days at LSU a buddy use to ley us use his Citation if we paid for the pilot and fuel. Great Times

Look Boomer, I’m not 70 years old and didn’t experience prop planes. Go shop for a coffin!

“Props” (Saabs & ATR’s) were used quite extensively by American Eagle in the 90’s when I was growing up.

I always try to get on a CRJ when flying. Guaranteed aisle and/or window seat. And they fricking haul arse too.

CRJ-700 is an awesome plane. If I’m flying something tiny, I’d prefer the Embraer over the CRJ-200. You can have an aisle and window seat at the same time!

Haha, I hope you’re trolling or talking about landings.

The CRJ definitely has shocks
