Why do people want to pretend that MSY is worse than ATL?
Atlanta is way more congested with more delays. Not to mention, the dread and tediousness associated with having to stay in that black hole of a city for long layovers takes a huge toll on the average traveler.

My gripe with the CRJ is on decent they let the cabin pressure get out of whack and it kills my ears. They will pop like 2 days later. My uncle said it was a similar system to the DC9 and his DC9 driving days he would leave the engine that ran the cabin pressure a few percent high to help keep the pressure up a bit.

I like the regional jets simply because they board and deplane so fast. If you don't like turbulence, get a seat over the wings. I've never noticed a big difference between those types of planes and the larger ones
And they have a much shorter takeoff roll and need less to land...more runway to play with is a good thing.

Really want to get on one of those. Not sure I’ll ever have the chance.
Not entirely positive but I’m pretty sure Delta mainline still flies 717s out of BTR.

Good gawd…of all the things to bitch about. Reg jets aren’t as smooth as a mainline aircraft but sure beat the old Turbo props. The Embraer 175-190’s are fantastic regionals. Stop being such a pansy
Look Boomer, I’m not 70 years old and didn’t experience prop planes. Go shop for a coffin!

Because it’s 10x busier
It’s a well run airport for the amount of people/flights it handles per day

Last one I took into Bozeman was perfectly fine.

Remember that idiot a few years ago that found a great airfare from New York to Sydney, Australia via Bozeman, Montana? Turns out he accidentally booked a flight to Sidney, Montana and when he got on the prop plane he asked the pilot how that little plane could fly all the way to Australia?

Yeah but the whine of the CF34’s on the back row

Those flights never had many passengers on them. I remember one time me and another guy were the only passengers. And on those flights there was one flight attendant.
From memory, the AC on those jets always seemed to be more effective, maybe because less 98.6 degree bodies on board.

Boarded a turbine prop in KC. The only passenger on the plane. Kearney, NB, the only runway open. Massive snowstorm. Landed, kid that picked me up to go to the hotel had moved there from Tampa. Where I flown from. “Miss Tampa yet? You will” he swore he was moving back home at the end of week. Told him “I moved from Cheyenne to Tampa and never looked back. You’ll enjoy that trip, like leaving El Paso.” Hands don’t fit a snow shovel anymore.

I remember flying in a Martin 404 back in the 80s and DHC-8s (Dash-8s) in the 90s.
Hated the Dash-8s. Loud.
regional jets are fine IMO for reasons others have already pointed out.

All of the RJs have great safety records. They’re efficient and suited for their role. That being said I look forward to the newer E-175s taking over the regional markets. Bigger baggage space and more comfortable all around

Only one I really hate is the CRJ-200. They are so hot and AC sucks so bad they should be banned from the south in the summer. The ERJ’s aren’t bad and the 175 is one of my favorite planes.

The last time I flew out of MSY was a few years ago. The TSA line was at least 45 minutes. I hope it’s improved.
I regularly fly out of ORD, JFK, LAX or or MIA. The security lines at those airports is not much longer than the the Known Crew Member line that I can go though. So much so that many times I’ll go through the regular line instead of walking a few minutes to the KCM entrance.

I caught one in Nebraska, trying to get to Denver. First of all, The TSA or whomever was the security there really, really, really took their job seriously. It would have made a great TV show with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman playing the agents.
When we boarded, we had to step over the wheel wells in the passenger portion and the flight attendant was also the co-pilot (I think) who asked if anyone wanted water. If you did, he threw small bottles of it to passengers in the back. No peanuts though.
It was on a milk run schedule stopping at two more little towns that we were not permitted to disembark before arriving at Denver.
