I'm 6'5" and I'm reclining my seat if the plane offers it. Also have no issue with the person in front of me reclining theirs. I simply move my knees to a new position. It's not that complicated. The seats don't really recline that far anyway.

Use Situational-awareness. If you have a 6'5" Baw behind you already jammed up, then don't be a dick. If it's a sleeping 6 year old, then go ahead and take the extra space.

All that needs to be said.

If I am buying the tickets myself I usually do but when I fly for business they always stick me in coach.

Same could be said about the person reclining their seat.

And you can't pick your seat?

They paid money for a seat that reclines. That entitles them to recline it.

You paid money for a seat knowing that the person in front of you could recline their seat, but you want to bitch when they do.

That isn't remotely the same.

Again, if I am flying for non-business use then I get exit row or Comfort+ but on business trips I get screwed.

I'm sure you can talk to them and figure something out to get an aisle seat.

Reclining your seat on an airplane

There isn't enough room, and I blame the airline industry. The legroom on planes has continued to shrink to the point that planes have become greyhounds with wings. You should be able to recline (especially on extended flights), but I typically don't.

I don't like it if the person in front of me reclines, but I think it is their right and it pisses me off at the industry, rather than the individual.

If it is a 3-hour or redeye flight then I get it but when the flight is relatively short then it is a dick move.

In case anyone has missed it. This whole debate started from a video that went viral of woman attempting to recline and the man pushing her seat forward.

I don’t ever recline my seat, because I hate when other people do it to me. That said, it’s obviously an option made available by the airline, so I can’t really blame anyone for doing it.

ETA: it doesn’t affect my legroom since I’m not tall enough for that; I just hate it because it makes me feel even more enclosed in an already-tight area on an enclosed airplane. More of a claustrophobic effect than anything.

Not true

And not all airplanes are the same in regards to leg room. In some smaller planes, my knees are up against the back of the seat while it it still up. In those cases 2-3 inches makes a huge difference

It's not my fault if someone behind me isn't capable of not selecting a seat in the last row

This is the biggest thing that is being ignored from the original story. The last row is typically for the basic economy passengers. Dude took the cheapest seat available. You don't get to complain and be a dick when your cheap arse gets the non reclining seats across from the shitter.

Just because you're entitled to do something, doesn't mean it's always the courteous thing to do. Like I said earlier, it's not something I complain about, but given the small space given to airline passengers, I think it's rude to reline your seat and impinge on someone else's space. I mean, I have the right to blow arse and stink up the airplane on a flight, but I don't do that either because nobody wants to smell that for 2-3 hours.

I do generally try to pick an exit row seat, and it doesn't bother me at all if I'm able to sit there. But that isn't always possible.

If you're 6'0 an under and the reclining seat actually bothers you, then you are probably just a miserable frick in general.
