Just watched my buddy go through it. Only advice I have is dating apps aren’t for dating, they’re for casual hook ups. He got bored with them after 6 months or so, but there are only so many single women in their 30’s and 40’s in Birmingham. He just got remarried and met his wife through a co-worker.
Oh, he also had no idea what ghosting was, but quickly found out. Apparently it’s very common in the dating world these days. One girl even ghosted him in the middle of a date. Went to the bathroom and never came back.

Seriously though, I took some time to work on myself. Dropped a shite ton of weight. Got a new job. Got myself a new truck.
The earlier poster was right. At this point in our culture, guys in their 30’s through their early 40’s have a wider range of women available in the dating pool than ever before. With dating apps and bars back open, it’s easier than ever to meet them.
But getting past that search and destroy period of single life to try and date seriously or meaningfully can still be challenging. With age comes less flexibility on what you will and won’t put up with. So maybe it’s even a little more difficult in some senses.
But I’ve literally never been happier in my entire life.

Dude cheated on her multiple times, gaslit her the entire time, bought his mistresses cars, clothes, and houses and basically got everything but the kids. She did her best to be a model mom during the proceeding but based on some of the texts my wife let me read, she has every right to be a psycho.
Within 2 weeks of the divorce she was dating and I’m pretty sure she’s been involuntarily celibate for 3 years. We know her from church so I hope she’s not sleeping around, but God help the man that it happens to.

Three is the magic number. I have a 3rd date set for this weekend and it finally falls on the weekend she doesn’t have her kids. Easter kinda threw us off because she’s very busy building a house and working, BUT the stars seem to be aligning this weekend.
Dating can be fun but I find that i don’t really want to spend much time with 90% of woman. It’s kinda tough to find one in that 10% that I actually like. We’ll see, there are definitely some crazy broads out there.
The good news is that I’m in a major metro so I can just kinda filter them like an Amazon List. Trying to find that middle ground between the filtered up whores and the fatties. It’s tough sledding, I go on a lot of first meet ups. From a Egyptians to Koreans, I’ve sat across from a few different types of gals. I’ve pretty much written off most white American women.

Tinder is/was trash at the time. Too many fake accounts Bumble was worked best for me. Went on some dates, got laid once, and then met my girlfriend. I was picky... No kids, no divorcees, and 420 friendly.
It wasn't easy for me but I think my city has a lot to do with it.

No, not first meet ups. They are usually at a coffee shop so we go our different directions but it definitely sets the tone. After many of these meet ups, I don’t want them to end in BJ’s or sex, I just want them to shut the frick up and leave.
When I used to drink, the random sec was A LOT more frequent. That is the only part of drinking that I miss.

I have been told multiple times by women in their late 30's/early 40's that I am not dateable because I have no kids, never been arrested, dont drink anymore, and I have no tattoos. That should tell you all you need to know. Forget the fact that I own my own stuff and have a solid career - no, how dare I not be responsible for spawning multiple bastard children or look/act irresponsible.
