Alamo Drafthouse
Buc-ee's
Main Event Entertainment
Could they be resurrected one day or is the current economic climate not conducive for growth?

the current economic climate
Seems like the safe answer.

I would guess once they got the ball rolling and communicated with the clowns we have in local government, they realized they didn't want the headache

They would have done well in Baton Rouge. They are big hits in the Houston area and they have lots of competition as well.
I can see Bucees bailing with the flood impacts. Alamo drafthouse not sure but they did sell a location in Houston and is run by a different company now.

Was there ever any real talk of a Top Golf or was that just ideas people have thrown around on here.

You left off the Florida Blvd. Bingo Hall

I dont see how any of them would have benefited our city.

All Bucees had to do was spend a few days visiting various gas stations, restaurants, and other retail businesses in BR to see just how shitty customer service is in this city/state. They knew they wouldn't be able to find the personnel they needed to be successful. It's the same reason we'll never see a Quick Trip.

Buc-ee's would be stupid not to reconsider growing into LA. The I-12 stretch is a perfect spot for them. I wouldn't say that BR's economic climate is good, but it's definitely not bad. It's better than most cities of similar size. BR has the potential to grow into a bigger and more developed city, but it's the cucks in office that ruin it for everybody and slow down any economic development that the city has. With Mayor Broome in office, it ain't looking too good for BR's future. When will LA politics cut the bullshite and realize everybody is moving out of state to live a better life?

one of these is not like the others. How is Bucees even given a second thought? Its a gas station, not a place you'd take a date or meet at with friends.
albeit, its a cool gas station.

I've come across a few Pilots that are nearly on par with Bucc-ee's with everything except for the pointless stuff at bucc-ees

Seems like Breaux Bridge or eastern Livingston would be a better choice for Bucees.

Would this do well in BR or would it be overrun with out of control teens?

There's a similar business on Sherwood/Coursey that seems to stay busy.
I think larger indoor entertainment venues like Main Event or D&B have a better natural fit in places with really shitty winters.

Something like this will probably come to BR eventually. Trick is finding the right spot. There are a couple of other companies in this market as well.

When they announced the location it didn't make any sense. Even just a shade on the other side of the Amite, in DS, would have made more sense. I still think the best place for it off the Lobdell exit. The Love's truck stop there might be the crappiest one in the chain, and they could do a ton of business from people who stock to get snacks and food to eat while sitting in BR traffic!

Again, I think location is key for this one. Needs to be near where there are a lot of kids that come from families with disposable income.
