to be true ...
1. If you didn’t hear it from the horse’s mouth, stop listening to the jackass who told you.
2. Be OK with not knowing for sure what might come next, but know that whatever it is, you will be OK.
3. The first to apologize is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. The first to forget is the happiest.
4. You can’t do ugly things to people and expect to live a beautiful life.
5. If nothing else, some people just teach you how not to be.
6. Not everyone will understand your journey. That’s okay. You’re here to live your life, not to make everyone understand.
7. Not having the urge to explain or defend yourself is real peace.
8. Sometimes what didn’t work out for you really worked out for you. Read it again.
9. There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book.
10. There is no need to rush. What is meant for you always arrives on time.
11. Repetitive complaining will attract things for you to complain about. Repeated gratitude will attract things for you to be thankful about.
12. Life is meant to be lived forward. Learn from the past but don’t live there. Today is a new day to create a better tomorrow.

The days go long but the years go fast.
Whoever speaks first in a negotiation loses.
Work smarter not harder.
Lead me, follow me or get out of my way.

It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt

The older you get, the faster time goes. The years just seem to fly by.

There’s not really a saying for it, but the older I get the less I care what others think about me. I have way too much shite on my plate every day to be worried about most people other than myself and my family

Passion is the true enemy of reason.
Don't confuse activity with achievement.
If we put all of our troubles in a hat we always pick out our own.

Yeah this one isn’t true. Maybe before cancer, but not any longer.

The thread title below sums it up. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Basically the theme of the Leftist playbook in this country.

It's not a quote, but I've found if I have a question or need to confirm something in a meeting, at least 3 other people have that same question. It's kind of freeing to be the person that will actually speak up and say "Yeah can you clarify that, I'm not sure I understood."
Also, the Man in the Arena is spot on. I can empathize with both the actual contestant and the critic. I'm trying to lessen the critic inside of me over time, but frick it's difficult. I was born with the DNA of a critic, raised by two loving parents that were also born with the DNA of critics, was forced to think that way by the Lord of the Flies way kids treat the weird dude in class, and held a job for over half a decade that embraced the critic (tax auditing). I fight that every day, and have made it a point to use that same critical voice on myself to know how it feels.

My dad told this one to me:
Don't sweat the little things, and , REMEMBER, they're all little things.

I needed this one today.

Say it louder for the people in the back
I'll add these gems I heard recently that I love.
-Don't stress on finding the next right thing, do the next thing right.
-Be kind and speak gently to past versions of yourself who did not know what you know today.
-Live your life in such a way that when people talk shite about you no one believes them.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
The grass may be greener on the other side, but you still have to mow it.

You are what you eat. You are how often you eat.

Life is a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.

My grandfather’s favorite: “That son of a bitch is as worthless as tits on a boarhog”
As a young boy I always just laughed and thought it was pretty funny. The older I get I realize he was talking about 90% of society.

If everything is important than nothing is important.
The second rat gets the cheese.
You win on your worst days.
Organization will set you free.
Aim small, miss small.
