this is not 1965, where everyone listens to top 40 AM.

It's easy to be musically cocooned today. There are 40-somethings who've never listened to anything but rap

Its the fricking Beatles.

I actually find these entertaining, like the Chris Stapleton reaction videos, or even better, Charlie Daniels and the Devil Went Down to Georgia ones

Yeah there are some with like Hank Williams Jr, Metallica, or Charlie Daniel's like you said. I can at least believe they probably haven't heard some of them before from some of the younger black guys.

Either most of them are lying or black people are so fricking sequestered that they’ve never heard a fricking Beatles song. Not sure which is worse.

I don’t care about the downvotes, the Beatles are overrated. The Who and The Stones were much better

It’s usually BS. They have usually heard it before but are doing that for views.

It’s like when Chad Smith plays drums for “songs he never heard before”

He has heard the songs and knows what band it is

I guess people are wanting to see cross cultural connections or something?
No, they want their tastes vindicated and to believe their choices are enlightening to others.

I think it’s the exact opposite. Different genres are so readily accessible through Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc

30 years ago all we had was FM radio

Many people have never listened to the Beatles, or anything else pre-'90s

Whoa... have I been cast in the role of hip social critic lecturing some old fart not to be blinded by nostalgia?

Thank you!

They are just pandering to the fans of whoever they are “reacting” to … they’ve already heard these songs or don’t really care they just know they will get fanbase for each of those artists to share it

Listening to [Tool] for the first time
Listening to [Shinedown] for the first time
Listening to [Korn] for the first time

When you watch multiple videos from the same person you realize their “reaction” is basically the same to everything

and 90% of people will not take advantage of this - instead they will stay in their cocoon

A slot above adults that watch videos of other people playing video games

If you’re watching a top ranked video game player or team compete in a tournament or something like that, how is it different than watching Wimbledon or The Super Bowl?

Or British people watching American music

The rabbit hole I've fallen down a few times is foreigners experiencing the US for the first time (Buc-ees, Walmart, boiled crawfish, differences in home styles, etc).

Where would a 23 year old black guy ever hear The Beatles? Do you think they listen to classic rock radio? Certainly none of their friends or family listen to white guy rock from 60 years ago.

hate "reaction" videos in general. It is arguably the lowest form of entertainment.

I enjoy watching the Cartier Brothers on YouTube. The episode of them watching “Paradise by the Dashboards Lights” kills me.
