1. 1950s Elvis ruled; fat 70s Vegas Elvis sucked.

2. Music board.

THIS song was up next when I opened the link.

It might be one of the few times it was performed live with everyone from the original recording.

If I could see any performer alive or dead. I would choose Elvis. But I struggle with whether I would want to see early Elvis or Vegas Elvis.

Thanks for sharing his version of Promised Land. The only version of Elvis I liked was wasted Elvis.

NBC Recording Studio Tour in Nashville

In room where he recorded "Are you Lonsome Tonight" at 2am in the morning, no lights and very few instruments. They recreate the scene and it'll give you chills.

He is the King.

Not the King of ____.

Just the King.

That is how you know you are the GOAT. When you need no clarification on your title.

"When did I have corn?"

What were Elvis' last words, Alex?

Keep in mind the shrieking. Pre-1956 you wouldn't have to deal with that. Though if you brought a date from 56-58 you were probably guaranteed at least a handy after.

I think I would choose to go to the '68 Comeback Special. Might be the best version of both Elvis',the king of rock & roll and the over-the-top showman.

Elvis was woke long before yall other honkies. Even "too short" stole his song "in the ghetto".

quote:

As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto (in the ghetto)

And his mama cries
'Cause if there's one thing that she don't need
It's another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto (in the ghetto)

People, don't you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day?
Take a look at you and me
Are we too blind to see
Do we simply turn our heads, and look the other way?

Well, the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto (in the ghetto)

And his hunger burns
So he starts to roam the streets at night
And he learns how to steal, and he learns how to fight
In the ghetto (in the ghetto)

Then one night in desperation
A young man breaks away
He buys a gun, steals a car
Tries to run, but he don't get far
And his mama cries

As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto (in the ghetto)

And as her young man dies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto (in the ghetto)

And his mama cries (in the ghetto)
(In the ghetto)
(Aah-aah)
