Rape accusations are about to go parabolic (assuming that there is a RvW rape exemption).

My state requires reporting the rape to police in order to secure an abortion.

And that’s why consent forms will be the norm.

Congrats, we’ve managed to notarize sex.

I agree that a rape exception, while certainly justifiable in theory, will present some big issues in practice because it is very unlikely a CONVICTION for rape will be reached before the child is born, or at least reaches a certain amount of weeks in gestation. So any exceptions will likely be exceptions for ALLEGATIONS of rape, which can be problematic.

That said, all the Dobbs ruling states with respect to abortion is there is no constitutional right to such. Therefore, it is left up to the individual states to enact their own laws regarding the practice. So there will not be a "RvW rape exception".

Sounds like some men are going to need to think long and hard before dipping their wick.

Do they also require the report to based on fact? With penalties that will be enforced?

There is NOT the exemption in Louisiana.

No exemption for rape or incest.

Just Googled it, there are 13 states without rape exemptions. In my opinion rape, incest, danger to life of mother, are all considerations for an abortion.

Rape- necessitating charges be filed soon after alleged incident would be a must.

Incest- would be more difficult. Often incest, by nature, victims are silent and usually underage.

Liberals still don't get it. The issue is, in accordance with our constitution, since abortion isn't mentioned in our constitution, it's to be decided by the state. While I believe founding fathers would be against abortion as a woman's "right", changing the constitution to accommodate ideology is a slippery slope.

The federal government was never intended to have the power it now possesses. Hopefully, we can begin to turn the tide.

That’s how Roe vs Wade got started, when a druggie lied about being raped, true story!

I don't know. Fabricating a rape, and then having an abortion is a high stakes game. If it's proven to be false, that could be a murder charge.

So is red flag tattling. Every violent protesting baby killer needs to be reported. They should never be able to own a gun.

I think this whole thing is overblown.

Most people who are outraged/excited about this will continue to live their lives.

Some people will move to states where they feel like that state's government is in line with their ethics. God bless em. Some people will be more careful. Some people will have illegal abortions.

I just don't understand why this issue is so divisive. I think safe abortions should be legal. But we have the system we have. The supreme court is a result of presidential appointees. Citizens vote in their area for the president.

Why if someone disagrees are they evil? You don't have to have the same values and priorities as someone else to respect them.

That’s what the conservative standpoint has been. Leftist like to pretend it’s so that women have to live in handsmaid’s tale.

Some D in Oklahoma state legislature was angry at their new law restricting abortion this year and said he was going to introduce legislation holding men financially responsible for their babies and most republicans were…

And so to follow up, there should be equal jail time given to anyone falsely accusing anyone of rape. How much less should someone who sought to take 15 years away from someone’s life get, but 15 years of their own taken from them instead?

It is still not a good reason to start killing babies at will again.
