If you stood just north of Tony’s seafood, on plank road, and started digging straight down,

You would die.

Because the denizens of NBR would shoot and rob you.

Liberty Island where the Statute of Liberty is located is on NY land, but the water surrounding the island is New Jersey territory.

If the entire world were as densely populated as New York City, the whole population would only cover 250,404 square miles. That means the entire world could fit into the state of Texas.

Mountain City, TN is geographically closer to Ontario, Canada than Memphis, TN. There is that lake to get around, though. So, Google maps puts the driving distance to Windsor, Ontario as 17 miles farther than Memphis.

Point Roberts, WA, located below latitude 49, is adjacent to the Vancouver, BC suburb of Tsawwassen. Students from Point Roberts have to cross two international borders each way to and from school in Blaine, WA. For this reason Point Roberts is popular with the Witness Protection Program.

Berkeley, in the Bay Area's "East Bay," is further west than Stanford/Palo Alto on the peninsula.

One day I was standing on the top of Mount Whitney. The next day I went down to Badwater, then on the way home I went to see the oldest living things on Earth, the Bristlecone pines in the White Mountains. That was quite a nature trip.

Some points on the West Bank of Orleans Parish are further east than some points on the East Bank. But the furthest East point on the East bank is much further east than anything on the West Bank. It basically touches Mississippi
