Be careful with the new Silverado. Have 2 friends who both have brand new Silverado’s and both have the exact same problem with the Engine in them. Chevrolet is calling it a chuggle. Both guys are life long Chevy guys and this making both of them look at trading in for a ford or upgrading to the Chevy diesel.

Probably gonna buy a f150 super crew 4x4 tomorrow. I was looking hard at ram but the local dealers don't want to deal. Then the dealers out of state that have the good discounts won't give someone from Louisiana the same discount. Pretty messed up in my opinion, we buy more trucks(in the south) than anyone else and are much poorer. So frick them. Got a Chevy as a backup plan in case I get to the dealership tomorrow And they try to pull some bullshite. I hate dealing with dealerships.

Come take mine for a spin. 2010 F150 4x4 Lariat. Bought it for a work truck 4 years ago with 60k miles on it. Biggest nicest piece of shite I’ve ever owned. Literally everything has gone to shite with this truck. I actually use mine for work and it’s a white piece of dog shite. It has a nice interior though.

I've lost count of the number of Chevy/GMC half tons I
personally know that have over 300k miles, and many over 400k and even 500k. When it comes to longevity, no other brand comes close, going by the real world experience I can see with my own eyes.
Why anyone would consider anything else is beyond me. Yeah, Toyota has their name, but that's all they're coasting on with the Tundra.
Fords are nice, but they just don't hold up. They have a long history of being sub-par over the long term, whether it's the spark plug issues of the old 5.4 to the cam phaser problems they still have, among others.
The Ram truck is probably about the best thing Fiat makes outside the Grand Cherokee, but you never know what's going to happen with that company. Fiat is trying to sell them off right now.

So far i have test driven the Ram and F150, honestly there was no contest....The F150 drove better and the interior felt way more solid...The Ram felt like it would rattle after 10,000 miles.
Will take the tundra out for a spin on thursday.

They are good trucks. New ones are coming out soon, so be on the look out for very good deals.

Spinning off RAM was a great move for that brand. People on tOT are biased against them but I have owned two RAMS and a Yukon. The RAMs have held up much better than the Yukon in terms of repairs and interior fit/finish. I'll never go back to GM

Funny that our experiences differ. I’ve had at least 5 Chevys from work vans to Tahoe to silverados and every single one of them were junk. At 100k miles every one of the transmissions had to be replaced, a few the AC went out and on my last Silverado at 60k miles the oil pan failed.

And this brings me to my Tundra. I absolutely love this truck. I am pushing 70k miles and have had zero problems and this is my work truck with hundreds of pounds of extra weight in it at all times and pulls a boat almost every weekend. My buddy had a 1st gen Tundra that was also a work truck that he put 175k miles on with zero problems and he still got $12k on trade in for it.

Quick search shows Ram finished 5th out of all manufacturers for the 2017 Initial Quality Study and the Ram 1500 tied the Silverado in the 2017 Vehicle Dependability Study.
I’d say they’ve improved.

Traded a 2010 Gray Tundra SR5 4x4 Crewmax with 200k for $15000 probably could of asked for more in hind sight. I have owned 3 tundras I have never had a check engine light come on or any issues sold all at 200k. I have logging company so i pull and run them in the woods daily lots of 4 wheel drive and rough roads.
They are tough reliable trucks. The gas milage is around 16.5 to 17 from LC to Houston on I10 averaging 78-80. it s not much worse than Ford Or chevy if you get someone to honestly compare the two. Also they have a 4.3 gear ratio, I agree its probably to low but will pull anything you want, but affecting the MPGs. They are all great trucks but when you trade in a tundra you can get top resale value. If taken care of properly.

I had the opposite experience. The Ford felt real cheap in the interior. The seats were basically nothing. The ram was much better and the Ram had alot more power and the ride was great. Both of the ones I drive were 4 wheel drive and an xlt and tradesman ram.
This leads me to my biggest issue with vehicles these days. Why are the seats so shitty. Even my Cadillac has shitty hard seats. Cars 20-30 years ago were built for comfort. Seats back then we're thick like a sofa cushion. Now, the seats are like a flinsy board with an inch of cushion on it.
Give me a seat like a 1979 Oldsmobile. frick these hard arse seats. Foam is cheap.
