I took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto and in between those two very large cities are about 7 other very large cities. A lot of which I had never heard of or realized how big they were. As others have pointed out, Japan is built different than here. We are spread out way too much for something like that to be viable. Would it be awesome? Hell yeah, financially it wouldn’t make much sense though. Their public transit system should be one of the wonders of the world, it’s very easy to get around and it’s awesome. People respect each other there, it would be a disaster here.
No way I would pay that price for the Ego without a battery. You can usually find a reconditioned Flowzone cyclone or typhoon for under $200. The only difference between the 2 is that the typhoon has a stronger motor and if you aren’t trying to reach siding on a second story or spray up high in a large tree you probably don’t need it. I got the typhoon and it’s pretty bad arse.

Focus 21 doesn’t ring a bell. What years? I was in Anomaly 2002ish and we played in Nola with Punch People and MP79 all the time. Fun times man

Late 90s, early 2000s. We played Howlin Wolf a lot, the Parrish room in HOB, Tippitinnas, Check point Charlie’s, Zeppelins and lots of other places I can’t remember the names of right now with bands like Shani Sane, Overtone, Community, Punch People, People on the Side, Self Titled. We did get to open up for Dead Boy and the Elephant Men, Dick Dale and Zebra which wears pretty cool. Yeah the music scene back in those days were good with lots of local bands.
You guys seem to know the price of everything and the value of nothing. Doom and gloom is all to be had. For fricks sake let the season begin. Fans see a direction while fair weather fans see only the foot in front of them.

What band were you in?

I was at that Shanahans show also, man I miss seeing them in small venues like that. Their energy was unreal at that time. Chino still had his dreads. Got to hang out on their tour bus afterwards for a bit with all four guys. Even got my Adrenaline CD signed, great times…

Yeah that show was awesome and it’s been fun seeing them from small clubs to filling arenas. During Lifter at that Shanahans show Chino climbed on top of the PA speaker and during the part where he sings gotta make it sick, gotta make it sore he dropped the mic. We were right in front and the mic fell right in front of my friend who picked it up and started singing gotta make it sick while Chi screamed gotta make it sore. We were in a band playing all around NOLA and had just finished our demo and gave them one. It was pretty cool knowing Deftones had one of our cds. Good times and lots of memories.

What an awesome way to do a prerelease. For anyone who missed the private music.tv, they had 3 different channels to switch between, a chat box and a guide. Channel 1 would play some weird shite and then a new song from the album every few minutes. Channel 2 was all of their videos with interviews and live shows mixed in. Channel 3 was different videos from bands that inspired the band. At the end they did a live stream and played a couple new songs and a few from past albums.

So far this is my favorite album since Koi No Yokan. The first time I heard Deftones was right when Adrenaline was released. A friend of mine had accidentally got it from Columbia House for a penny, for those who don’t remember Columbia house you could get like 10 cds for a penny. My first time seeing them was on that Adrenaline tour at Shanahans in Lafayette, a small shite hole bar and got to hang out with Steph, Abe and Chi, unfortunately I don’t know where Chino went after the show that night.

Since then I’ve taken my sons to shows over the years. Just one of those bands that has generational fans. Around the Fur and White Pony have just been topping charts in the UK again with a younger generation discovering the band. I can usually tell how long or how old a person is by them saying their favorite album.

For me it will always be Adrenaline, Around the Fur, White Pony, Deftones (self titled), Saturday Night Wrist, Diamond Eyes, Koi No Yokan. I know that’s the release order, but I grew as the band grew awaiting each album.
There are tons of them in NOLA and Metairie. They should do fine for a long time.

She fine.

That was a very refreshing interview, DD is such a good human being and we are lucky to have him.

The resemblance to Tom in the face is incredible.

Like the pick or not, he’s done everything you could want a rookie QB to do so far; embrace the city, work with teammates, impress with physical traits. Not saying that translates to him being a quality starting QB. But it at least ingratiates him to the city and show he’s trying.

Exactly, the dude has an arm and has the attitude. All we can do is wish for the best. I know our WRs are a concern, but we have the speed with Olave and Cooks to go with the arm and we have two big bodied receivers in Means and Peoples Jones. While it doesn’t look all that exciting let’s let the coaching staff figure that out and all be fans looking forward to the season instead of being negative and shitting on everything like a lot of posters here.
How old are you? I can see you know nothing of fishing or a play on words.
When did Saints talk become the retard board? This thread is embarrassing, get y’all’s shite together.

re: Dead Royal Palm in NOLA

Posted by SuddenJerk on 5/17/25 at 5:33 pm to
Not that it matters, but you must mean a queen palm as a royal would not survive long anywhere in Louisiana as anything under 30 degrees would kill it.
They are basically the same except the Typhoon has a much stronger pump and comes with a larger battery. You can get a reconditioned one from the Flowzone website for a good price that still comes with a warranty. I wanted the stronger pump for spraying siding on a second story, roof, taller palm trees if I need to spray fungicide in the crown, etc. It’s the best sprayer I’ve owned.
Sabal palmetto, it’ll be fine. Palms are not like other trees, they use all of the nutrients in the older fronds and you really shouldn’t trim them off until they are completely brown. If you want it to look nice you can keep the canopy trimmed so that the fronds are at 90 degrees, but you should wait until spring as it is under stress right now.

I had DTV Sat for years and checked out Stream before I dumped them for YTTV. They had Stream and then Stream with the Gemini box. When you say internet are referring to the box?

Yes Directv stream with internet I think you have to use the Gemini box. It’s more expensive and has a contract. Its a stupid and confusing name as it doesn’t include internet, that’s just what they call it. Then they have regular Directv stream that can be used on any streaming box.

Below is what I see for DTV Stream. Definitely not cheaper than YTTV even with the pending $10 increase CHOICE™ $79.99/mo. Unlimited cDVR: included Gemini Air device | Qty: 1: included Advanced Receiver Service Fee: $15.00/mo. Regional Sports Fee: $15.99/mo

That’s for Directv stream with internet. Or something stupid like that. As usual Att makes everything about as clear as mud. They have 2 different streaming services. Diretv stream and Directv stream with internet which has a contract. You don’t want the latter.
