Cummins is the best engine, no doubt. The body/chassis that it comes in, not so much. The Cummins will still be chugging as the truck falls apart around it. Cheap plastic interior pieces that don’t hold up to uv light. Mopar Auto trans is junk. Now, if they’d put that engine in a Ford? Now you’d have something.
Like many others have said, I won’t be buying ANY new truck with the way prices have skyrocketed. I need a dually for towing and my ‘08 F450 in my avi is paid for with only 130k miles. New one loaded up is now priced north of $100k.
And, they all break down. I used to own an automotive shop and for every person that says they’ve “never” had a breakdown with a certain brand, I can show you two or more that have. It’s a very complex mechanical device - they break. Vehicles now have 10 or more ECMs and CANBUS systems. Subject them to the things we do and it’s a wonder they don’t malfunction more often.
Bottom line, test drive them all and make sure your arse is comfortable in it.

I would like to see reliability stats on those turbo charged Fords. We have two in our fleet and both have had trouble. Also our newest company F150 has had several small things that required warranty work.
If you want to buy a truck and own a long time then Tundra is by far the best from my experience.
I will say one of my family members owns a 17 Titan and it gets good gas mileage, has a big engine and has by far the best warranty of any of the companies---bumper to bumper 100,000 miles. He has about 20 k miles on and not a rattle or a failure yet. They look good to me too and you get more bells and whistles for your money with the Titan.

I’ve had a Silverado that i loved. But the prices are getting retarded. I bought a Ram this time and it’s been a great truck so far.

I don’t think they look cheap, but they do look a little off. The stock wheels are too small, the front is bulky and squatty, the chin scoop is bad.

Honestly just go drive them all. They are all decent trucks. I have owned all three of the brands, not one of them broke down on me, best for mileage was Ram 1500 and easiest to maneuver, Ford no doubt best interior, Chevy was the quietest on the inside/least amount of visibility. I drive alot, I put over 100k on each truck over a 2 year period. They all last, all have their strong points, it just comes down to what you prefer. Just go drive them and buy the one you like the most. They all drive significantly different

they have reaalllyy upped their interior game of late. go take a look at the chevy/gmc before you dismiss it. had a new truck as a loaner and was a big fan.

The Chevy 5.3 V8 is not as fun IMO. Nothing wrong with it at all, but I’d prefer the Toyota or Ram V8s. That Chevy 6.0 V8 looks amazing though if you want to pony up for a high country.
