Here’s the story

Truck broke down out of town during a job. Originally great service. I noticed a weird metal on metal sound while driving after getting back. Called in and the person I dealt with. He told me to swing in on a certain date. I drove a hour on that day just to be told that guy wasn’t there. The service manager told me I could leave my truck with them again but there was nothing else he could do. Wouldn’t even listen to sound himself. I’ll have to find someone local to me and pay to have it fixed. Thanks Rainbow!

Now the service manager tells me he won’t stand behind their 2 week old brake job and I have to pay for new brakes and roters again. Worst business ever!

If anyone knows a good lawyer let me know.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

There is more to this story.
You don’t understand how lawyers work either.

The dust something or other wasn’t put on correctly so it warped the brakes and rotors.

No lawyer is going to waste their time on this. In the future, don't ever bring your truck to the dealership for service. The service department brings in the most cash at dealerships with huge markups. Find a local shop, you'll save a ton of money.

The more you know how cars work, the less chance you have of being ripped off. Without knowing why you needed service originally, then we can't help but sounds liked you got ripped on a brake job.

Are you saying new rotors were installed and they warped in like 2 weeks due to lack of a dust cover not being replaced ?

I bought a vehicle from Rainbow once. Had to replace the fuel filter, gas tank, and a couple other small related things.

Rainbow basically told me to go frick myself.

Dogshit business.

If they fixed something with new parts, and it broke again in 2 weeks, make them fix it. But at the very minimum, you need to know what was originally broken, what was fixed, what is broken now.

I suggest you go to a convenient dealer and get them to quote it. Bring your previous service ticket with you so they understand what was fixed. They will be able to help you more than we can with the info provided

You got to put some effort into getting your story straight if you hope to have any recourse here. You can’t threaten anything you can’t explain.

ETA: send them a draft Google review and email to BBB. You’d be surprised how much that moves the needle these days.

If you paid on a credit card, which I hope everyone knows is the best method these days, threaten a chargeback. I wouldn’t even be inclined to let them fix it again. Tell you CC that they refused to fix it, which of course you have documented in writing (get to work if not, if they are non responsive document that). Get a local dealer to fix after they refuse and request the chargeback.

That's what I am gathering too.

They may have told him that, but I doubt that is the case. Unless it was installed extremely wrong and was rubbing the rotor the entire time (you would know pretty damn quick there is a major problem) causing the rotor to get super hot and warp.

Yes that is correct. It was installed incorrectly and was making a screaming, scratching sound.

Call Stelantis (RAM). Seriously. They aren’t trying to let a dealer crap on their name. You’d be surprised how much leverage the parent company can use on their dealerships.

I got the owners contact. He’s out of town until Thursday. I’m going to give him the opportunity to make it right before going above him.
