Yep, when the RaceTrac on Old Hammond (in Baton Rouge) was first opened it too was a great place. Not so much now. Now on many of the pumps when you swipe your card nothing happens, there are like 4 layers of vomit next to each gas pump, and sketchy heroin addicts appear out of thin air asking for dollars. Often the gas pumps won't print out a paper receipt and when you go inside to get one there is always a line of people buying scratch offs. Circle K has better soft drinkcups, those bad boys will keep your drink
Sounds more like Baton Rouge problem than a Racetrac one. Never had an issue like that at any of the Lafayette locations (not even the Evangeline location).

You take your morning dump at a gas station? Are you homeless?

You drive 120 miles to go fishing at dark thirty in the morning and tell me where the best place is to take a dump.

By your username, Iamnerd, I suspect you dont fish and sleep late in your moms basement.

I remember several stories of RaceTrac having issues with water in the gas. I'll never buy gas from them.

This isn't necessarily a problem with the brand overall. Just drive around during these rain storms and find the stations holding water in their parking lot over their underground tanks.

Avoid those stations.

If I recall correctly Race Trac is still 100% corporate owned so they don’t have shitty franchises to deal with.

They used to get a lot of shite on here, but I have found all of their locations to be at least decently clean, well laid out, and pretty nice.

The new one on Airline? Seemed fine to me, but maybe they have off days. Their coffee is legit.

Surprised those places even run given how hard it is to find decent employees right now.

That's what I was getting at with an earlier post. My understanding is that the Majors include additives at the station. Many of the smaller station chains do not do so.

Chevron - Techron, for example

While most major brands do have their own additive package its more of a sales gimmick IMHO. Take the colonial pipeline for instance. It feeds truck loading terminals where transport tankers pick fuel up to deliver. The fuel is the same but you have several brands loading out of the same batch. The brands particular additive is supposed to be injected into the truck while loading. A lot of times there is an issue with that injection system, they are out of a certain chemical, etc.

It wont stop that truck from pulling fuel.

When obama brought the ebola to American soil he proclaimed our health standards are the best and we a fully equipped to handle a pandemic. That ignorant frick has never been to the bathroom at the Racetrac in Chalmette.

The mental gymnastics people use to wedge politics into literally any topic never ceases to amaze me

I can't imagine being that soaked up in politics 24/7, sounds exhausting.

To the OP, RaceTrac fricking rules. Their pizza is money on road trips.

RT is one of the only chains in LA that actually disables their underground pumps when water is detected in the tank.

For that reason I fuel up at RTs whenever possible.

They franchise under the Race Way brand if I remember correctly. Try stopping at one of them in south AL and you’ll know you aren’t in a RT real quick.

Glad I'm not the only one. Racetrac is fricking solid. Bucees is awesome and all, but it's nice to have another solid chain of gas stations that aren't as huge and crowded.

Back in the day, you could rent movies from the Racetrac on Bluebonnet, and they had damn good popcorn, too.
