Ignore the damn thing and keep fishing.

Have you ever been fishing offshore with 4 or 5 guys on a center console. Not always a lot of space when you are miles and miles away from shore for 8 hours or more. And if you are fighting a large fish, there could be a lot going on in the boat. Having to mind a possibly rabid animal that wants to scratch your eyes out the whole time isn't much of an option.

Its be tough to drown it and certainly wouldn't post a video. But just letting it hang out with you isn't much of an option either.

Yeah the SJW types on fbook don't care though. The guy should have absolutely pushed it off but not filmed it. Protect yourself but have a little compassion.

A pissed of coon is NOTHING you want to frick with. Especially the rabid kind. Rabies kills you.

1. The raccoon had to be in a compartment since they got that far out before noticing it. Scoop it up with the net and put it back in the compartment.

or

2. Leave it in the water, but at least tie a flotation device to a rope connected to the boat and let it hold on to that.

IGFA rules prohibit trolling with a mammal.

But the point I'm trying to make is that under no circumstances do you just let a live raccoon hang out on the boat with you while you're miles/hours from land.
this, and I would not spend the gas money to save a coons life either

coons, possums, rats, snakes or ANY pest would be killed on my boat, if I was close to the marina, I can see turning back, but killing a raccoon is no bigger of a deal than killing a rat, other than that they "look cute"

I mean hey, if I'm being honest I would definitely learn if a racoon works well as live bait. I bet they produce amazing topwater action.

Saw a rat pop out of somewhere on a boat that had been stored in a barn and start running around the deck of a 27’ center console about 30 miles offshore. That was some funny shite

what a fricking tool that guy was. I've executed many a coon for various reasons but I would've at least boated to somewhere near shore before I made him get off.
