I started 2 months ago to help with migraines (it has). Losing 18 lbs is an added bonus. I don’t feel remotely deprived, and I can find things to eat at any restaurant.

We used to hold it down in the OG ptfd thread back in the day. Trying to get back consistent myself

The good old days

I haven’t had a single “cheat” day in 2 months. I’m not sure why it’s been so easy this time around.

Not saying keto is bad, but you are using logic of bulemics/anorexics.
Keto can be just fine but your reasoning is that of a 15 year old girl.

I now have mad skills at smoking brisket, so there's a side benefit to Keto right there.

Mainly because I feel better doing it. Multiple injuries had me in pain quite often when working out and I had pretty regular headaches probably due to multiple concussions and a couple neck injuries. I’m pretty much pain free when in ketosis.

Blood Sugar control.

Besides, Keto is nothing but Atkins, SugarBusters, South Beach diet, Cave man diet, blah blah blah. Everything old is new again.

Blood sugar was at borderline type 2 diabetic. After three months restricting carbs it’s down into the normal range.

I’m on a modified version of Keto and it works great for me. All of the benefits people have already mentioned I experience. Sleep, energy, concentration, have all improved.

I will say a friend fell into a deep depression that his psychiatrist claims was triggered by his Keto diet. It was pretty scary for a while.

See, this is the issue - cheating.

I live near the beach, so we have lots of visitors, which is great. Not great? Trying to meet their dietary restrictions here at my house only to have them then go hog wild on carbs at a restaurant. Ugh!

We eat whatever we want in moderation. I still weigh what I did at LSU (no pics but 117lbs, 5'8"). I now have a repertoire of low carb meals for friends & family that they enjoy, but all that meat makes me feel sluggish and gross. When we have guests, I miss fruits, veggies & yes, rice!

I'm not on keto nor a proponent of it but:

1) it's the hot diet of the moment
2) there's some good science behind it
3) it helps curb hunger
4) fatty foods are delicious so some don't feel very deprived
5) because they want to

Agree 100%. For many people, keto leads to carb binges and unhealthy eating patterns. It can promote restrict-binge behavior. This isn't the case for everyone but I see it a lot in the general masses. Anecdotal, but that's what I see.

Keto & IF are the truth. It’s the only diet you ever need, and you can use it as needed. I’ve been off Keto since February but during the week keep my carbs below 100g a day and with moderate exercise has maintained my weight since hardcore Keto. On weekends I eat whatever I want.

I do lazy keto to maintain my weight, and I feel I have more energy throughout the day.

Yep, there are “keto” baws in this thread defending it who openly talk about having entire days dedicated to cheating

Why do you do it? Is it about living longer? Or just looking good? What are the tangible benefits of zero body fat? Is it to stay buff for the ladies? If so, what do your ladies think when you take them to a nice restaurant and you can’t eat anything? Are you able to woo her with a nice bottle of wine? I’m trying to figure out where you find the joy in your life.

Stop trying to justify your obesity.
