That's most likely a rule due to covid crap. Contactless pickup.

It's also bad because there's no telling what they will put in your car (meth, weed, etc).

If I see one on my way in, I pull it back and leave it by the front of the store even if I do not need one that trip.

Someone I know from Boston calls it a carriage. Only person I ever heard call it that. Buggy or cart in my experience.

I always get out and try to exceed my personal best time in unloading per crate, to the gratification of the worker, and the amazement of those that remain in their cars.

In what scenario in your mind does a drug user or dealer stash free drugs in an unsuspecting persons car at the grocery store? This isn't Juarez.

park next to the cart return barn.
Park near to the return corral.
Not next to it.

Why would someone waste their weed or meth by putting it in a strangers car that would EASILY be traced back to them? That's stupid as hell.

Tell them to stop being a lazy bones and put their carts in the cart corral.

I agree

What is the proper protocol at places (Rouses in particular) that don't have any cart corrals?

It’s really not. You have zero control over what people do.

Yeah, you don’t have control over what people do, but it proves how someone lives their lives as a responsible adult.

I'm more peeved by the person who can't park IN the parking spot. They either stop 4ft short leaving the arse end of the vehicle in aisle/lane, pull in on top of the line or even over it essentially taking up two spots, pull all the way through the spot and 3ft into another spot or a combination of any of the above. THOSE people make me smh in disgust more than the lazy cart folks.

Sometimes I wish I had a pack of stickers that say "Great Job Parking" that I can stick to their window.

I usually religiously do. At Walgreens I even go back into the store.

Though at my local Walmart they removed all the cart corrals in the front half the lot. So that the distance to the corrals is just crazy far if you park near to the front. As such at Wal Mart and because I had to check out and want to not further take anyone's jobs. I don't return the carts. I put them behind whatever person nearest me parked over the line.

An interesting corollary to this, is that the lot panhandler's seemingly always zero in on the people who are walking to put their carts away. It's as if they know the better quality people will be more likely to give money to them.

This is precisely why I would sometimes leave my cart in a spot when my kids were little. If couldn't get a spot near a corral, I certainly wasn't leaving my babies unattended in the car. Sorry, not sorry on that.

If places like Target would police their lots better and demand the city take care of the useless degenerates that plague the area, I might care more.

you’ve got two options:

1. Walk the car back to the store; or, what I do
2. Load my arms up with every bag and worlds strongest man event my way to my car

Next to it works for me. Ensures no one is next to me on that side and I can get to my doors.

The next group down from the scum discussed here are those coming in the out door at Kroger. I really think they should be shocked with a prod by an employee. I would volunteer on weekends.

Harvest (Alexander's) and Ralph's 44 don't have corrals. I bring the cart back to the place by the door where the store keeps them.
