I feel like this world has turned into Short Attention Span Theater.
People are so fricked up that they can't concentrate on driving and have to be doing something else also and the driving is just an additional activity. Like walking and texting.
Your fricking phone can wait.

That’s every day, every other driver in Houston

My wife who is normally a good driver was distracted by a fricking Pokémon event or whatever last summer and almost drove us into the path of an oncoming dump truck. I had to scream at her to stop and she finally did. I made her sit passenger while I took the wheel.
Then after a few minutes she remembered she’s a woman, and fussed at me for yelling at her about the oncoming dump truck lol

These laws are useless and were only passed so the politicians could pat themselves on the back. Until police start writing tickets for it, it will continue. But there's already reckless driving laws on the books. They didn't need a new law, just enforce the ones already on the books.

Keep in mind everything you do on the cell phone is time stamped which means if you get into an accident the first thing the insurance company is gonna do if you’re on your phone that’s a double edge sword if you caused it you’re really fricked
Esp if someone else’s involved

I’m picking mine up in about 4 hours and I’m anxious to test the autonomy features.
I got mine 2 days ago and cant stop getting back into it. It’s the most amazing technology I’ve ever witnessed.
It’s basically a high end sports car, by far the best performing and fun vehicle I’ve ever driven, but I keep letting it drive itself. Enjoy.

That was a hilarious reaction

It was easier to text and drive with the old Nokia candy bar phones. Yeah, you had to hit the keys ten times as much, but you could type a novel with nothing but a thumb, send it, and never even look at the screen.

There is a reason it’s the best selling car in the world currently.

No.
Just don't use two hands to text.

If you have your phone in your hand you aren't watching the road 100% of the time.

I am getting to the point, after driving rideshare on the side for 2.5 years, where I just feel like I can't be on the road as much anymore. It doesn't feel safe.
Creepy passengers, drunk passengers/drivers, oblivious pedestrians, packed streets, distracted drivers, had a road rage incident last night when going home...it just feels like a ticking time bomb where at some point I'm going to find myself in a really horrible situation.
