When I was that age T ball was pretty much just normal baseball rules, 3 outs. If you somehow managed to strike out or the ball was caught you were out. I don't remember it hurting anyone's feelings, but whatever, it's t ball.

shite. When I was 4 years old I was playing 9 full innings with a fat pinch under my lip. No excuses.

Seems reasonable at that age. The kids will have a lifetime of disappointment. Might as well let them have fun and learn the game.

I'm pretty sure it was that way when I was 4-5 which was a while ago. Honestly, at that age, they barely have any real understanding of what is going on. That stuff is more about building coordination and physical abilities than anything else.

That guy sounds like a facebooking Trump lover. As someone who coaches 4 year olds, it is a struggle to keep them in one spot and not picking grass for more than one inning.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your kid probably gets his arse kicked every day at school since all the other kids know his dad is a mini-van driving pussy. He's probably pretty tough by now.

Those kids will never make it to the big leagues. My 4 year old plays Elite Travel T-Ball. We travel across the state every weekend for the best competition

honestly i don't care about it. the fact that the guy made that point makes me think he's an idiot. he doesn't have kids but does coach a travel ball team.

as far as i'm concerned, we could just practice every time instead of playing a "game" because at this point, again, it's more about learning and repetition. The don't know what the rules are but they learn a little more very time. First baseman stays at firs, running base to base, how to approach the plate/ball. I couldn't give two shits about winning or losing at this point.

My goals for them:
a) have fun
and b) learn

Yes. How is he ever going to learn without a 35 year old wannabe big league dad screaming at him.

Most rec t-ball is all this way. The kids can have fun while learning how to hold a bat, how to throw, which base to run to, etc. it supposed to be that way. Let's kids have fun.

But the dude has a point. frick, those pussy 4 year olds. They have it way too easy. You should be yelling at the kids for fricking up. Honeymoon is over kids. Time to learn disappointment and failure.

So they dig up ant beds in the outfield with panache? Calling a 4 year old "Elite" makes me laugh out loud. Thankfully this was mid sip in beer drinking.

4 and 5 year olds. Remember that. It's perfectly fine.

Last time I coached t-ball, the rules were everyone batted like you said. The first half of the season, no outs were called. The second half of the season, outs were called and players sent back to the dugout, but everyone still batted every inning and no score was kept.

Damn, when I was 4 our coach had us run 2-3 miles each practice and would yell if we stopped to walk.

Then we would do an hour of Tom Emanski's drills to get the fundamentals down.
