There is no such thing as tball games. There is only tball practice.

So I submit to the venerable OT: is letting kids at that age play without outs the pussifiaiton of America?
Terrible. My boy is seven. He's machine pitch. They play regular regulation rules. Three strikes = an out, three outs and their half of the inning is done.
His team won two trophies because they won the regular season championship and the end of season tournament championship. No other teams got trophies.
Kids need to know that fun is great, but the best way to have fun is to win. They also need to know that winning leads to greater rewards.
Kind of a rant here to the OT parents....work with your kids and don't depend on the coaches to do the work.

our travel t-ball league uses outs. we also only accept the most elite 4-5 yo's.
My travel fetus league uses outs also. We just have the pregnant moms stand out in the field and let the fetus' assume control of their mother through telepathy.

a kid caught one and how cool it was to see kids progress and everyone cheered (both sides). He asked if the batter was out and sent to the dugout. I said no because there are no outs or runs and at that age, the biggest thing is trying to hammer home fundamentals. The more reps (at bats, balls fielded, bases ran), the better. His response was “pfft, that’s the pussification of America, he should be taught what it feels like to be out and fail”.
Story reads like a 4 year old dropped the line "pussification of America"

Meh. At 4-5 years old I have no problem with everyone hits and no outs.
Anyone who wants their kids to be super athletes and needs to justify theirselves at a coach for this age group needs to reconsider there life priorities.

For 4-5 year olds it's fine to not have outs. Once they have some sort of skill level, outs should count and there should be a winning team and a losing team
Agree. All you're doing for 4&5 year olds is introducing them to the most basic concept of baseball. They can learn about outs and losing later when they've matured a bit.

They aren't even old enough to really understand the rules of the game or things like being out or losing. To them it would just feel like arbitrary punishment. They are just out there playing and not really competing. Kids that age just don't seem to play with that kind of structure, from my experience. You can't force young children who are barely older than babies and toddlers to understand concepts they aren't ready for.
That said I don't know what age the cutoff is. I remember it being kind of a gradual thing when I played little league. Maybe they were "real" games when I was about 7 or so, but things still worked up to be more like a real game until I was 12 or 13. Like we didn't pitch or anything when I was 7, but we kept score and did all that.

I used to get tongue lashings from my dad if I wasn't the best at t-ball, baseball, soccer, school, piano, etc., and look how great of a guy I turned out to be.

They can't catch fly balls? They would never make it past tryouts in my neck of the woods. Sounds like you need to get back to teaching these boys to be men. I bet they wear clip on ties too. Jesus fricking Christ.

Couldn't agree more. They're fricking FOUR YEARS OLD. Let them have fun and teach them the rest of the rules when they're 7.

7 is a lot older than 4 from a development perspective.

When I played t ball we had outs. You hit you run bases all that jazz. If you got out you still ran bases. At 3 outs the bases would be cleared. Everyone batted. It was something like that.

Is this a subtle brag thread?
I was still shitting my pants at age 4 so grats to you I guess.
