The Phatwater. They haven’t done that race in years. It used to be a good time, but if you had a south wind those last 9 miles were brutal.

Thats kind of sad. It was a fun event. Good times had during and after...

I took my kayak a ways down the inlet channel out of St. Andrews bay this past weekend. It was all fun and games until the wind picked up around 3 or 4 and big offshore boats started coming back in to the marina. All in all it was a blast but next time I will definitely start earlier in the A.M.

Now that's a bunch of psychos! Starting at the Mouth of the Mississippi and going all the way to the Artic Circle.

I'd buy a beer for anyone I saw packing a canoe or pirogue through the quarter.

I've done it on tow boats from Nola to Pittsburgh and other points and that's good enough for me. But I've always wanted to go from my birthplace on Lake Ontario on up the St Lawrence Seaway and to the Atlantic. That would be amazing.

This has been done thousands of times. They aren't the first. Honestly you could make it down doing very little work just riding the current. Only gotta work when you're gonna hit something or gotta pull over for the night.

I don't think the downvoters understood your joke.

If you ever get a chance to go there, they have an interesting museum. There's also an interesting book written by a guy who was in jail there while it was still a leper colony.

Them baws from the closing credits of Hawaii Five-O would've knocked that out in no time.

Let me know how all those lakes north of St Louis treat you while you're just sitting there riding the current.

Seems like it was 20 years ago, but someone swam the entire length.

A couple of LaTech guys took a summer to do this 4-5 years ago. Sounds like it would be fun…for about a day.
