I always ask how one makes their groceries when people say it this way.

Easy, you go make them at Schwegmann‘s

I don't understand the appeal for sitting in the sand in 95° weather, getting a sunburn and staring at the ocean for 8 miserable hours like it's a big TV screen. The channel never changes
Yeah, 95 is too much but there are umbrellas and I like that channel for 8 hours a few days per year. It's better than TV.

Who the hell waits til the morning of 4th to go to the beach on the 4th?

Oh I see this is directed primarily at LA residents. Carry on.

By law this board delineates east and west based upon Baton Rouge.

Nope. The only directional concerns written in stone on this board are "North or south of Florida Blvd.

For east/west, it is now centered in The Green Swamp. Not a green swamp. The Green Swamp.

Since this is Mobile centric post. You have to make them at Delchamps for historical purposes.

Any further east, you have entered Publix country, but at least you can still visit those.

Delchamps and Schwegmanns are now other stores like Rouses and others.

Who is the guy that started the thread a few weeks back about going to the beach was the worst experience of his life?

Some guys act like they did a tour in Nam because they had to haul a cooler and a couple chairs to the beach for a week.

Rent chairs, find a different vacation or grow a pair.

I’ll just leave now, and when I get to the tunnel I’ll just ride in the exit lane and then jam myself into the tunnel lane right at the end. I’ll cut in front of a tractor trailer or a mom not paying attention.

Ugh.

Heading there Sunday. Delayed by a day to try to slightly avoid July 4 and normal Saturday traffic.

Every year I say it’s the last time we’ll go.

It’s relaxing. Listening to the surf is better than drugs for zoning out.

Tractor trailer not good plan. They need lots of room to brake.

Having grown up making the summer trek to the Florida panhandle, the wife and I continued the tradition. But it kind of warn thin for us and we don’t go anymore. We can get a condo in the islands for cheaper and find reasonable flights for a hell of lot better experience than we get on the redneck riviera. No more Mobile tunnel or Bay bridge that just sucks the life out of you.

Can’t AL DOTD’s closest camera faces west at I-10 and AL-59.

Buc-ee’s is the next exit at Baldwin Beach Express.

M DOT doesn’t have one either in Long Beach.

Maybe Buc-ee’s ought to start a camera page of the view inside and of the lot.

That place getting a make over. You should see the tile work. The state is doing a 56 million dollar makeover.

Houma is supposed to be next, but they better fix the bridge issues first. Especially since the makeover will take a year and a half for Harvey. So in DOTD years that is likely a full 2 year project in Houma…LOL.
